what paint is best to use when painting a figure???

last time i tried a custom paint job I used acrylic paint, and while it turned out o.k it definatly could have been better.

so what type of paint makes the most realistic look finish

I always use acrylic, never had any problems with it.

i know theres better paint out there... i think one is Testors modle acrylic... its a different kinda acrylic that Jin Santone or whatever his name is uses... never seen it in a store though.

regular acrylic is ok, but many times it takes the "plastic" look away from the figures.

yeah it kinda gave my last (and only paint job) a bit of a "chunky" rough finish....

^does look better in real life however cause its smaller than that (the paint job is the kit as the player moved to liverpool (the team I support) and I managed to get the player in his old clubs kit for like £3 so thought I would customise)



you reckon those warhammer paints would be good????

A soccer figure... or you did superhero custom... because you know... thet testor paints wont work the same on that kind of plastic(soccer fig)

o really??? how comes??? does anybody know about warhammer paint, would that do a good job??

I dont know about that one, but I have a few customs and I use Testors, once I tried it in a baseball figure and the color went awry and it dried like ... wierd.

did you not wash the figure before hand?

toys have oil on them.. you gotta wash them with soap and water before you paint

yeah I washed and primed it first

well it was probably the priming then... if you primed it then paint should instantly be ok.. it wouldnt be the plactic on the fig, since it had a coat of primer on it

ps. to me it sounds like one paint was oil based and the other was water... you can't mix paints like that

ok i need some custom help too. do any of u guys think sentry or banshee look like or would look decent as topher grace? im talking about the ml of course cuz ima make a head switch

umm neither one look like topher to be honest... i have no idea why u'd think banshee does... sentry would look closer with brown hair painted.. but no fig to my knowledge looks alot like topher

i was just throwing ideas out there but i found the PERFECT fig. i mean perfect. its not ml but it looks like him



btw does anyone know how to properly put a head on a figure? like i took venoms head off now i need to put a new head on. but the problem is the neck is too wide. should i cut inside the head?

u know whats sad. this is a head from a power ranger. its cool because they can reverse heads. its bad because they to me are better than ml.
