Cutting Affleck some slack

No, because I thought it was horribly written. Who the hell says 'no pun intended' in that kind of conversation?

so like your posts. btw, if you think it was badly written, then how is it Affleck's fault:o The bandwagon broke a long time ago. Time to get off.

And he was also increasingly unbearable in Armageddon.

Everyone was unbearable.

I think the problem Affleck has is that he is a jock. He is just clearly the captain of the school football team, and the fact that he went out with Jennifer Lopez - at that point, the head cheerleader - doesn't help either.

His performance in the entire movie, was weak. The only thing good in that movie was when the black guy went nuts at the convention.

Just because I don't like him doesn't mean I'm on a bandwagon. I never liked him ever since I saw Armageddon.

Yeah, cut him some slack, it's not as if he was going to be in a movie you're gonna watch right?

Affleck bashing has long been as misguided as DiCaprio bashing.

I'm pretty sure that in a few months or so, people will start saying that they've been fans of Affleck since the very beginning and his acting is the greatest thing since sliced bread. :p

please no smile. this is very serious. its insulting how fans lie about being Ledger fans from the Rock Knight days. :cmad:

and you are right it will happen here. some will be smart to say that they are fans from the Gone Baby Gone days. but some will go full ****** and will mention Gigli.

It was easy to make fun of him before he was going to be Batman. Much like if Michael Bay was signed on for Avengers 2... We might have to take a second look at him (and at Marvel Studios).

But yeah, he seems to have improved in the last 5 years. The Town and Argo are good films and very watchable compared to Gigli, Daredevil and Paycheck.

He was never that bad to begin with. Some of the movies he was in were. That's the main difference in his career, the quality of projects he has chosen, and something people still haven't figured out.

Lord is a search genius (not being sarcastic)! Seriously. I thought all these 2006 threads would be about fifty pages in by now.

I'm actually still not convinced about Leo. He was good in the aviator but he had a really great director in that one.

As for Affleck, we just have to wait and see don't we? Worst case scenario is they just recast him like Brandon routh.

I'm actually a fan of him as a director since i saw The Town, only going to watch Gone Baby Gone now (which i originally thought was about the Maddie McCann case) and it's amazing to see that out of his 3 directed films (without counting an old short film he directed decades ago) they are all past the 90% in reviews.

Still hope he changes his mind on directing the Justice League movie, then DC could really say they are rivaling Marvel with a different strategy.

but my post was about the fans who will lie like with Ledger.

i think Affleck talked about directing JL in 2012 with WB. i think after finishing the new movie if he is happy with the direction than he will direct JL. solo batman? i hope it doesnt happen for 5-8 years.

Crikey! The thread that died, but was resuscitated...

And yeah, cut Affleck some Goddamned slack, dammit!!! He's a great director and a pretty good actor too, these days anyhow.

noone was hating or complaining about Affleck until august 2013.
