‘Dark Crystal’ Prequel Series in the Works at Netflix

A prequel series to the 1982 Jim Henson film “The Dark Crystal” has been greenlit at Netflix, the streaming service announced Thursday.

“The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance” returns to the world of Thra with an all new adventure. When three Gelfling discover the horrifying secret behind the Skeksis’ power, they set out on an epic journey to ignite the fires of rebellion and save their world. It has been ordered for 10 episodes.

Feature film director Louis Leterrier will executive produce the series and direct. The Jim Henson Company will produce, with Lisa Henson and Halle Stanford also executive producing. Longtime Henson collaborator Rita Peruggi will serve as producer and Henson’s Blanca Lista will serve as a co-executive producer. Leading the writing are co-executive producers Jeffrey Addiss, Will Matthews, and Javier Grillo-Marxuach.

Nice. Although we all know how this story ends. :(

At long last something else in the Dark Crystal world.
I guess it will be about the milking of Gelfing's life essence because the power of the Skeksis comes from the Crystal which is no secret.

Ive never watched the movie. I guess I should.

Sounds very interesting. I'm thinking of re-watching the original film sometime.

Yeah, this is one I will have no problem binging.

Some Scenes in the Originial Movie where Really Brutal for his Time now i wonder what they show us on Netflix

Netflix has the luxury of no rating system so their stuff can be anything from rated G up to rated NC17 if they want.
