Dark Knight Retires Web-Series

[Retired Batman]

Hi guys,

My name is Hunter Davis, and I'm the co-creator of a new web series coming out in a couple of weeks called "The Dark Knight Retires." It's an 8 episode parody following Batman deciding to give up the cape and cowl and date Catwoman until other supervillains end up getting in the way. Think "Curb Your Enthusiasm" meets Batman.

After promoting pretty heavily at Comic-Con this year, we are finally premiering the show on Wednesday August 14th. Yeah I'll check it out. Pretty creative. I always like to see fellow fans remember that Batman is more than just grimdark stuff. Props to you in advance for recognizing that humor and lightheartedness has it's place in his world.

I completely agree Cain. Especially after the super realistic Nolan versions. At the same time, we've tried to keep true to the characters and designs even though we are presenting them in more a comedic light. No one acts extremely un-characteristic and we tried to incoporate many elements and homages from the nolanverse, burton films, animated series, 60's show, and even the schumacher films.

Basically the show takes the premise that Batman has been protecting Gotham for so long that he's taken for granted and everyone takes advantage of him so he decides to try something new.

I just hope you guys will enjoy it as the series is as much a love letter to Batman as it is a parody.
