Darkseid War

Yeah once this is collected, the drastic change will be extremely jarring while reading.

While I like the art... it doesn't do well in comparison with Fabok. It's just too different, and the color scheme feels weird for this. I don't know. It kinda took me out of the story.
Yes, I just felt that too. I like Manapul'art quite a lot but they should have gonewith someone closer to Fabok's style. Fabok, who is delivering an excellent work.

Awesome issue, this arc has been awesome. And for me the entire run on this title has been great and one of my favorites. Always look forward to reading it.

Yeah, that last page...

Barda looks amazingly drawn by Fabok. Zod damn. Also, Hal [BLACKOUT]sitting on his constructed chair next to Batman[/BLACKOUT]... :lmao:

It feels so great to have Fabok back on art. I really like Manapul, but Fabok's work is on another level. The story keeps on delivering as usual.

Finally, after almost two months of break we're back at this.

The epic climax is getting closer. :hmr:

This arc is just so fantastic. Always a pleasure reading it.

Man faboks art is outstanding. I'd buy this book just for that. He has some of the best looking versions of the justice league I've ever seen. He may have taken over for Alex Ross as my favorite artist.

Yeah, Fabok is just killing it. I'm real eager to see where he goes during the relaunch. I'm pretty sure he's leaving Justice League if I remember the article with Geoff Johns correctly, but where to go after that? I'd love to see him take on Green Lantern. And while he had a gorgeous run of Detective Comics, I'd like to see him take on the core Batman book. Love his Batman.

I agree ^ would love to see him on Batman or GL.

Fabok is fantastic. His style reminds me of Reis. I too would like to see him stick around with DC after Rebirth.

Ultraman's fate was very satisfying considering that I loathe that character.

Zod damn, the final issue... Fabok killed it on art.

- Scot(t) and Barda :waa:
- Diana has a twin brother?!
- I can't wait to see who killed Owlman (I still haven't read Rebirth #1)

Oh and it was no surprise they wouldn't outright reveal the Joker's real name. Let's see where they are taking [BLACKOUT]the three Jokers[/BLACKOUT] reveal, though.

For as long as this story has been going, the last issue felt rushed to me. Too many characters and too much going on. That said, I still enjoyed it.

I really hope this gets adapted to a 2parter DC animated movie.

This arc was really good until it got to the weird [BLACKOUT]baby Darkseid[/BLACKOUT] part :funny:

So all these reveals with [BLACKOUT]Owlman's demise and 3 Jokers[/BLACKOUT] will be part of the ongoing Rebirth issues. I read Rebirth #1 too, so is it safe to assume [BLACKOUT]Dr. Manhattan came for Owlman[/BLACKOUT]?
Batman didn't really ask to know everything in the chair, so he wasn't asking the necessary questions that leads to Rebirth, but Owlman did want to know everything, so maybe in the process it revealed the origin of the New 52 and Dr. Manhattan's hand in it. Possibly explains why Manhattan might be the one to finish Owlman.
Pretty excited for post Rebirth now. The monthly wait is gonna be excruciating :csad:

Man the Darkseid/New Gods/Kirby fan in me was severely displeased with this arc but beyond that this was just pointless.
The main draw of this story was a conflict between Darkseid and Anti-Monitor which amounted to nothing. Darkseid got nothing from this arc despite it being named after him, the Anti-Monitors story and characterization took a complete U-turn.
Then it shifted focus to the Justice Gods but did nothing with them.
Then it shifted to the CSA and did nothing with them either.
There were dropped plot points galore.
There were contradictory and non sensical twists, like why does Grail need the first man to enter paradise island? how does ritual even theoretically exist? and more importantly what does that have anything to do with Superwoman's baby? speaking of which but how the heck were Superwoman and Grail summoning his lightning? ugh
Characters were killed unnecessarily or just stood in the background doing nothing or subjected to arcs that had already been covered(Superman dying, possessed Cyborg etc)
Then to make it matter the writer concludes with some of the lamest reveals ever.
It's a poorly written story devoid of real attention span, Johns couldn't really be bothered to follow his own arc. My favorite part was John Stewart just floating around in the background after Johns went to social media to proclaim that he was doing lots of research on him for this arc, LOL wonder where it all went.

I liked the story a great deal but do feel that it got away from Johns a bit. It became too big and convoluted. I wonder though if Rebirth might have had a hand in that. Pretty much one of those "wrap it up quickly" kind of moments.

Yeah, I thought baby Darkseid was extremely weird and not a great note to end the series on. Sure, Darkseid had to be reborn but they had to find a better way than that.
