growl... I still want Timm to be able to do a Marvel based feature or series..

..out of the stuff mentioned.. dark knight returns sounds good, long halloween..

other stuff I want to see:

Milestone heroes features!!!: Icon, Blood Syndicate...

Justice League: a dvd film based on the current series, with the current team, including Vixen and Black Lightning..

Teen Titans, based on the 1980's era, not the kiddie-anime'..

Meh, I'd rather he stay with DC. IMO, Marvel still needs to get their stuff together in terms of animated movies. Maybe after a few years of doing a bunch of kickass DC stuff, he'll venture over to Marvel.

Honestly, i'd just rather see him do DC stuff.

no mention of Teen Titans: The Judas Contract?

Only bad news for the animated Teen Titans DVD. They're giving us the whole "not well known enough and no fan support" song and dance again. Ridiculous. :cmad:

They had:
  • a 5 year Titans cartoon run on TV
  • were DC's best selling comic before the whole double printing farce and DC's Infinity Crisis storyline (used to boost other titles) kicked the crap out of their fanbase
  • most of the heroes are also known from other series too. Robin...c'mon who DOESN'T know Robin?!? Wonder Girl with Wonder Woman, Kid Flash with Flash, Cyborg appeared on Superfriends and Smallville on TV, etc.

Warner Home Video is looking ahead to releasing more DC Universe Animated Original Movie productions next year.

With the current DC Universe Animated Original Movie direct-to-video Batman: Gotham Knight animated feature selling over 310,000 copies in the first two weeks, Warner Home Video is already looking ahead to their next release in the DC Universe Animated Original Movie brand, Wonder Woman, released through the Warner Premiere imprint. Arguably the most anticipated release in the still young line of home entertainment releases, the upcoming direct-to-video Wonder Woman animated feature is the first of at least two releases next year, possibly three.

While each title may come highly anticipated by the core fans, each title has to be a proven seller upon release in order to keep the direct-to-video DC Universe Animated Original Movie line a success. Not counting hi-def or legal downloads, Superman Doomsday sold over 400,000 copies in the first two weeks, with Justice League: The New Frontier accumulating 225,000 and Batman: Gotham Knight reaching 310,000 in the same timeframe, proving the DC Universe Animated Original Movie line is currently a success. With buzz about the possibility of a live-action Wonder Woman movie still on the horizon, and the legion of fans from both the 1970s Wonder Woman live-action series and comic series, Warner Home Video is hoping for similar success with the release of the upcoming direct-to-video Wonder Woman animated feature. According to Bruce Timm, producer behind the upcoming Wonder Woman, and the three previous releases under the DC Universe Animated Original Movie umbrella, each title needs to sell a few hundred thousand copies in the first few weeks to keep the line viable and successful.

This is why fans can expect to see DC's proven A-List heroes headline the majority of these releases as opposed to the lesser known characters. There will be at least two more long-form Batman-themed releases under the DC Universe Animated Original Movie name, with the possibility of using the banner name to revisit previous established properties, such as Justice League Unlimited. Timm has gone on record saying there's a good chance fans will be seeing Justice League: World's Collide, the script by Dwayne McDuffie that bridged the popular Justice League and Justice League Unlimited animated series. However, fans should not be looking forward to Teen Titans: The Judas Contract anytime soon, as that project has been put on indefinite hold for the foreseeable future. Lack of fan support remains the key issue in Teen Titans: The Judas Contract remaining on the backburner.

At least one more DC Universe Animated Original Movie title is planned for next year, after the release of Wonder Woman, with further information to come along shortly. The release can neither be revealed nor confirmed at this time.

The next title, the direct-to-video Wonder Woman animated feature, premieres February 2009 on DVD, Blu-Ray, and OnDemand. Stay tuned for further updates

i'm up for Batman: Year One, The Long Halloween, and Dark Victory. I consider those to be a trilogy. they'd be sweet to do 'em all in animated. I'm up for Hush as well. And The Dark Knight Returns prob. will happen and they could say that the one ep. of TNBA prepared them for it.

I'd love to see some stories being done in Timm's DCAU, particularly Hush taking place in the BTAS universe. You all know that it would be great to see (or actually hear) Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill, John Glover, Adrienne Barbeau, Loren Lester, and co. reuniting. And possibly even giving Tim Daly/George Newbern a role too, as Superman plays a role in the story. I think it would be great.

Other stories that could be adapted into the DCAU...
The Sinestro Corps War
Crisis series/52
Legion of Superheroes
Justice League International

Also, I wanna see this Justice League: World's Collide movie.

Aside from the DCAU, I really want Kingdom Come.

They could make a Parallax trilogy:

1) Green Lantern: Secret Origins

2) Green Lantern: Emerald Twilight (they would have to fill in the blanks between the mini-series, the Johns' flashback revamp shown in Rebirth and add in some new stuff where Kyle takes over the role as a hero from Hal)

3) Green Lantern: Rebirth

What about crisis on infinite earths?

the problem here i say is script. killing the multiverse and kara and barry depended a lot of reader knowedge and emotion before going in. It didn't really create it on its own. The history of the destroyed was heartbreaking. Plus everyone is in that story, you could remove a lot and reduce others to cameos I suppose.

My only wish would be to expand Brainiac 5's role using dialogue from the legion #16 tie in and improve the kara/barbara scene from issue 4. Doing that should help people cry about Kara's death. As for Barry, increase his time with Iris and Wally. Really make something of passing on the torch. Give these people something to lose and make their presence felt

as for the others my number one would be the JLU movie. Less interested in the batman stuff but I'll take all of them

I'm absolutely AGAINST adapting any of these epic stories like TLH, DKR, and KC....if they intend on sticking to that ridiculous 90 minute restriction. They will butcher these stories to no end, I don't care what production team they have on it.

After witnessing the atrocity that is JL:NF, I have no hope for adapting the big stories. None at all. They should instead focus on writing original scripts that would lend itself to a 90 minutes runtime. Look at what MOTP and ROTJ could do.

Always thought Crisis would fit a cartoon show season or a mini-series. They'd still have to alter it to fit even that length, of course.

Definitely want more solo WW stories in the future. Plenty of material to mine which would be great to see filmed.

75 minutes. 90 minutes would probably be enough for many of those stories.

I'd like to see Worlds Collide just to fill in the gap between JL and JLU and explain where Diana's jet came from, etc. (it'd be cool to see how the League went from the six-man band to the later stage)

DKR could fit into a 75-90 minute format. I'm sure of it. The other two, however...

Well that's even worse. I don't get why they have to stick to that runtime. I've heard excuses about budget costs, but surely an extra half hour or so wouldn't skyrocket costs to such a high degree. They'd even benefit more if fans know they're getting their money's worth by not cutting corners on what parts of a story they should adapt because not everything can fit.

DKR is by no means a short book. I'm not really sure how you'd fit all of that into 75-90 min. and grasp anywhere near the potential it has as an animated adaptation.

I would love for Kingdom Come to get a theatrical release treatment. That story is epic and should be treated as such. Fourth World will be added to my DVD collection.

But alot can be cut, and most probably will. I mean, even for mature audiences, I doubt that the movie would have the nazi tranny in it.

Our Worlds At War could be a promising film.

Set in the DCAU, Earth teams up with Apokolips and Brainiac to battle Imperiex Prime and his plans to fix the universe of its flaws.

ya know somethin, i'd be up for Bruce Timm doing a Daredevil show. ppl would prob. think of it as a rip-off of B:TAS or TNBA. but he'd be perfect for a Daredevil marvel dtv.

anyways thats lil bit off topic, i'd like Timm do the Knightfall trilogy. it'd be interestin. or have 'em do Teen Titans, but have it based off Geoff Johns and Marv Wolfman's last incarnation (like the storyline A Kid's Game, or The Future is Now (I believe with Titans goin to the future and seein future incarnations of themselves. cuz that was my fav. of the first four storylines. since it was interesting seein Tim Drake as Batman and how far he was willing to go)

omfg, if Timm would make a Catwoman movie I would just absolutely die with anticipation. We seriously need a true adaptation of Selina Kyle. We've never gotten it with any film. Michelle was awesome in Batman Returns but that was just her performance that made it great. It still wasn't a true adaptation.

Absolutely cannot wait for Wonder Woman... another adaptation I've been waiting for. (I love strong female characters... they're so much more interesting the damsels-in-distress like Mary-Jane Parker.)

Other adaptations I would like to see are obviously The Flash, Green Lantern, and I seriously think it would be interesting if they did a solo Martian Manhunter film. I think it might just work. As far Flash and GL.... I would much rather see them do an adaptation of a certain graphic novel, comic, or storyline instead of just doing an origin story. For Flash, I'm not really sure which one I would want them to adapt, but for GL I would definitely say Green Lantern: Rebirth, without-a-doubt.

As far as Batman, I would definitely be down with a Long Halloween adapt, that would be freakin' awesome. And as far as Superman, I wanna see an adaptation of the storyline where Superman and Lois get married.

Exciting stuff.

Nice to see the DCAU is alive and well and if it's future is in direct to DVD movies we should get a more adult take on the characters. I've only seen Death Of Superman and Batman Gotham Knight so far, as for some reason JLA New Frontier didn't get a UK release, but I enjoyed them both (even though DOS wasn't an exact comic book adaptation) so I'm eager to see more.

I wonder what the two new animated Batman movies will be. Dark Knight Returns, Long Halloween, Year One, Hush, the possibilities are all pretty exciting. A Catwoman movie would also be interesting, providing it stuck close to the comic book version of the character (no more weird Halle Berry spin offs thanks)

As would I. That has trilogy written all over it.

How can Kingdom Come be broken up into a trilogy?

In order to make each film separate with their own satisfying endings and plots, I think there would need to be some rewrites to the material.

How about The Great Darkness Saga!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darkseid#The_Great_Darkness_Saga

self contained story with Darkseid, generally considered DC's first epic.
Only problem would be the lack of known characters. A superman clone is in darkseid's control though and Supergirl is on the Legion, plus with the animated series of Legion they could be more economically viable

They would have to rewrite it no matter what they do with it. They couldn't give it the Sin City treatment.

I'd love to see that.

The Legion would have to be darker and have a few more members in it then their animated series for it to work. Make it closer to JLU in tone.
