DC Solicitations for February 2012

can't wait to get absolute final crisis tbqh

except that superman beyond is in 3D. yuck. good thing I have the original hardcover.

are they phasing out the DC direct action figures?

I'm intrigued by the Challengers of the Unknown taking over DC Universe Presents. I've only read a few of their stories, but I like them. Kind of funny that they're now up to eight intrepid adventurers when before it was like 4 or 5 at the most.

I'll be getting DC Universe Presents for the Challengers. I've been really liking DiDio's other take on a Kirby concept in O.M.A.C., so I have high expectations for this.

I guess I might still try it. I won't like it, though. And if I do, I'll at least feel very dirty and ashamed. :csad:

Awwwww Corp :(

I face a similar dilemma. I loves the Gentleman Ghost but Hawkman is being written by Tony Daniels

If I buy it I'm going to need a shower afterwards :csad:

Feels like we got the January ones just yesterday. How time flies, my young chickadees! :awesome:

Batwoman, Batman, Aquaman and Stormwatch are all looking great :hrt: And Demon Knights has an amazon fighting a dinosaur, what is not to like about that :awesome:

Despite having dropped Suicide Squad I might pick up issue six as it looks like Savant is going to be in it

And I'mma check out that Challengers of the Unknown story too

Don't forget that Didio is also co-writing the Challengers of the Unknown story with Ordway in the same way he's co-writing OMAC with Giffen. Most likely he'll throw out the ideas and Ordway will do the bulk of the actual scripting.

OMAC has been pretty fun and his Outsiders certainly isnt the worst thing I've ever read so I'll definitely give it a chance

A bit disappointed about the lack of Dex-Starr's Valentine's Day Special. Guess it's not happening this year.

I gotta say, DC is really winning me over with this reboot. I know it's insignificant but I really like how all the titles seem to be in sync with each other now, like how in Febraury every title is at issue #6 rather than scattered across the map. Sometimes appearance is everything and it seems like the DC universe is now more connected than ever. Although, maybe a little too much since I'm starting to notice they're spamming Batman across a few titles, no doubt to boost sales a bit.

They are taking over? It looked to me like a done in one new 52 origin story, probably going in the back of the 5 issue Deadman trade. Yep, they were 4 burly guys who seemed to be drawn as jumping all the damn time! :p

It does seem to have gone quick doesn't it? Maybe its because Marvel is delaying their solicits recently.

Oh, maybe. I didn't read the whole solicitation. I usually just skim through them quickly because I don't want to know too much ahead of time.

No, Challengers of the Unknown are taking over the title for an entire 5-6 issue arc just like Deadman. DC Presents has been said to be a title with rotating characters like that.

EDIT: Well, I found the original article and I was a little wrong in thinking they stated that outright, but it seems a safe assumption

Surprisingly DiDio is pretty damn good. His Outsiders may have sucked hard, but O.M.A.C. is one of the biggest surprises in the The New 52.

Yeah, OMAC has easily been one of the biggest surprises out of the whole thing. I REALLY like this book. It's just downright fun comics with some good twists thrown in on each issue. Giffen definitely helps make it by channeling Kirby.

It seems a bit ridiculous to me that Supergirl's basically meeting everyone else in the Super-family by attempting to kick their ass. Wasn't this part of the problem people had with the Loeb version like 3 or 4 years ago?

Yeah, not too fond of post-relaunch Kara. Superboy on the other hand, is really good.
