Its still tragic this game's coming out so soon :(

The game has been in development since like 2006, it might feel like its been rushed but essentially 4/5 years is a long time to develop an MMO.. Champions Online I believe was only in development for 2 years I believe before launch... and it showed with the number of bugs, problems & lack of content.

This is also an MMO that is very different from any other in the aspect that it plays like an action game what with combat & object tossing etc.

It might be a good idea to see what the reviews say upon launch, no doubt it will get better, but if you don't like everything your seeing currently then perhaps wait a month or two before investing.. but then you'll be instantly at a disadvantage due to being alot of levels behind many people.

Anyone know what the deal is with the servers for the game at launch?

If I buy the US version of the game will only the US servers be accessable? Or can I get into the EU ones also with the one version & vise versa..?

So I got into the Beta and while it's enjoyable, I agree with everyone else's sentiment when I say "WTF is up with the text on the PS3?"

I'm going to try PvP once I cap my PvE villian soon. I've never played an MMO before so I read up on the PvP servers to see what its about. It looks like alot of ganking is happening but there is also ways of blocking attacks and actually winning fights with people leveled way higher.

Also, the servers went down last night and was wondering if they were back up.

I played all morning and created a toon for the PVP server....no one attacked me

I got to lvl 5 on my hero in PvP with Superman as my mentor fighting a bunch of Gurilla Grod apes. No one attacked me either. I guess you just have to go around the city looking for a fight.

Usually you will get ganked when doing a mission both heroes and villains have to complete. Grodd is a starting level mission for heroes. Villains do a campus mission. I think the beehive mission is the first one where heroes and villains do the same mission so you will get attacked so they can finish their mission.

Or they are just attacking all things that are red and targetable so they don't know they are attacking a person.

Five years and it still needs a lot of work. What's a few more months to properly take advantage of the beta and release a far more polished experience?

Even though I have a pre-order, I really am hoping the retail version shows much improvement. I wish we could get some early reviews of the retail version, because that'd be helpful. I'd love to know if I should cancel my pre-order and wait.

Ah, screw it. I canceled it and will wait it out. I'm going to ride out the Beta and see what the consensus is here when the full game is out before handing my money over to them.

I don't think PVP ganking now will be the same as 4 months after launch to be fair. Right now it's a Beta that's only starting to open up. Most PVP encounters I've seen, outside of 2 lvl 20's last night, have been from questing areas with even level heroes and villains. Not enough ppl have had enough time to hit the cap and do everything there is to do. Given time after launch tho, with many more ppl playing, and I bet we'll see more high level guys camping lowbie areas.

Also....wtf is up with Harley Quinn? Bizarro went down easier. She has thugs, lots of grounding and stun abilities, does moderate damage, and is invulnerable except for a few seconds after she does a spin attack. Even then she wasn't taking much damage. I probably should have just went back in at a higher level, but she was tough. Plus it didn't help that a hero didn't help this time, Robin just sat there watching the fight in his comfy ropes. On the flip side Bane was fun, he did 3x as many cool things than he did in Arkham Assylum, especially when he uses a support pillar as a baseball bat.

BTW, wonder if they'll add a camera zoom feature to the PS3 version? I'd like to be a tad closer rather than my character being half a block away.

Edit - Just looked it up quick, on another forum someone said you can hold L1 and press up and down to zoom in and out. I'll have to try that later.

yeah i ran into Harley too....the mission starts off as level 12 but once you get inside the funhouse it shifts to level 14

I played this mission on Lvl. 14 and couldn't make it to the Robin boss battle. My items were all damaged toward the end which made me die instantly. Pretty frustrating.

Not only that, but with the capping that's done on the PS3 version of the beta, there's no end game content for the level 20s. they've got nothing to do other than gank. A couple weeks into release that will be better.

my biggest worry is the developers releasing a game that freezes twice an hour. I don't like having to hard reset my brand new ps3 that much.

That's why I say buy the game use the Free One Month & if it turns out it still freezes etc simply do not pay until the lazy asses fixes it. This is where we speak with our money & the developers will be left wondering why the Servers are empty & why they are not getting 15 bucks a month. If the PS3 version fails they will be forced to make it Free To Play or just close it down. They need to have a smooth launch

Fighting Bane alongside Killer Croc was def my fav moment of the beta. Unlike Batman AA he was a hard boss battle.

have you done many betas?

have you done many betas?

This is my first PS3 Beta & I have done plenty of 360 Betas. But at least with the 360 Games we did not have to pay 15 a month. That's why I'm being more harder on these guys then others. Any Beta problems like the Freezing better be gone before the Game launches or they just wont get my 15 a month. At least with this game & the Beta we can submit Feedback & they pay attention to the comments on their Facebook page etc. So we can have our say & the like. So there is no reason why Beta problems should be in the Full Game

I understand now...you cant treat this like a console Beta...treat it like a PC beta. Right now all we are testing is if the PS3 servers can handle the load. Yes there are freezings and what not but you can be sure that they will be fixed by release date.

& I will certainly be complaining if we have to do another long ass download come January 11rth :cmad:

get ready to complain then

every MMO beta I have been on people always say the same thing...and every one of them came out fine

Hmmm... 69MB patch. I wonder what it is.

zenith16, do you participate in the 1v1 fights by the Superman statue?

How many MMO beta's have you been in?

Cause I've been in, quite literally, every major MMO beta of the past 5 years. And every single release has been in rougher shape than DCUO is right now.

From what I've read about the game from various closed beta forums they seem to be close to a point that is "release ready". Certainly more so than WoW, AoC, Aion or WAR's releases.
