[Hunter Rider]

Plot summary

A married couple sail the Pacific Ocean to forget a tragic accident. After a month at sea, they sight a mysterious yacht and are boarded by its lone surviving crew member. When the husband discovers the yacht's terrible secret, the crewman goes wild, kidnapping his wife and taking his ship. Terror on the high seas is center stage as the husband fights to keep the mystery yacht afloat and his wife battles the psychotic who's assumed control of their ship.

I saw this movie for the first time in over 10 years last night and i had forgotten what a tight little thriller it is
All 3 actors play their roles well but what makes it is the direction shift 40 minutes in
It looks like it is all going off in standard thriller fashion with Kidman's character captive on the boat with Zane's nutjob and Neil coming over all manly fixing Zane's broken boat and giving chase but then it 180's with The boat conking out on Neil and beginning to sink which leaves Kidman's character the one needing to outwit Zane and turn their boat around to save her husband
The ending is a bit overblown but Zane with a face full of Flare is worth it

Anyone else like this movie ?

Yeah, I rewatched this movie several years ago and i remember appreciating it as a thriller AND an opportunity to catch some Nicole Kidman skin...Now that I think about it, it was like, 4 or 5 years ago... Yikes, time has flown by!

a REALLY good movie. that was the first time I saw Billy Zane, I believe. and, he was that character to me.

Well, she doesn't have any, but that ass was really nice.

Anyway, I like the movie as well hunter rider. The scenes with Kidman and Zane's characters are especially unsettling. She basically allows herself to be raped in order to save her husband.

Yeah that scene was uncomfortable to watch,i really liked how her and Neil's characters reverse roles mid way through the film it was nicely done without Kidman's character suddenly becoming a cliche ass kicking chick

I have problems with the dogs characterization though,where was the loyalty ? twice it messed up Nicole's plans and failed to help her

she was au naturale then. now she's mostly bleached and stretched. thats not to say she's a hot woman, she was gorgeous when she was younger.

i guess its the difference between drinking spring water and soda. Soda's still good but nothin beats water.
