If a dead actor/director could be plucked from the time they were in their heyday and dropped into the present, what talent would they seek out/work best with?

If Breakfast Club/Ferris Bueller era John Hughes woke up in 2017, who would be starring in his teen films now? If James Dean came back to us, who would be knocking on his door?

For my money, and not necessarily on the leading man side of things, I have to imagine Nolan would be finding spots in his films that John Cazale could fill.

Stanley Kubrick and Christian Bale would've been something.

I used to hold on to the hope that Wes Anderson would bring Gene Wilder out of retirement for one more classic role (Gene and Bill in the same scene?!?).

Now I'm sad again.

Before he goes, PTA needs to get Joaquin and DDL in the same movie together so the screen explodes from intensity.

Yeah, just making joke. George is the same age as North by Northwest Cary right now, isn't he?

I know, I was 'attempting' jokey back... Grant was 53 in NBNW, not sure how old George is currently.

I wish I could see ANYONE direct Heath Ledger, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Alan Rickman again.

Funny, I once wondered what kind of roles Heath would have gotten post-Dark Knight and concluded it would have been him starring in Inception. I could see him as Freddie in The Master as well.

*sigh*

Ken Russell and Johnny Depp
David Fincher and Marlon Brando
Antoine Fuqua and Steve McQueen
Kathryn Bigelow and Lee Van Cleef
Sergio Leone and Idris Elba
Quentin Tarantino and James Dean
Baz Luhrman and Marlene Dietrich
Bob Fosse and Ryan Gosling

PTA and Cary Grant. PTA is a huge Grant fan.
Kubrick and Tom Hardy. I feel like Hardy's energy would go well with Kubrick's mind bending type films.

More from me, this is fun:

Walter Lang and Robert Downey Jr.
Alfred Hitchcock and Daniel Day Lewis
Peter Jackson and Errol Flynn
David Lean and Cate Blanchett
Chris Nolan and Humphrey Bogart
Wes Anderson and Peter Sellers
Blake Edwards and Jennifer Lawrence

Frank Capra - Tom Hanks

Alfred Hitchcock - Cate Blanchett

One of Tony Scott's lined up projects before he died was meant to star Jason Statham. Another one may be starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Really both of them should've been in a Tony Scott flick.

I'm bumping because this **** was good.
