Death Sentence

THis looks entertaining and set for cult classic status and I'll enjoy it, but Brave one looks like it's got more substance to it.

Really ? to me the trailer for Brave One started out interesting then became Jodie Bronson, not saying this looks like it has any brains either.

I love the little bits it threw me like Terrance Howard having to take down Jodie Foster's Character, or Foster's Character becoming a stranger...

I had hoped it was gonna be more of a drama focusing on the prejudice against a relationship between an Arab American and a White woman in this post 9/11 time. The way it started got me interested then it felt to "death Wish with boobs" for me.

Just saw the film and have to say, imo, it's the greatest rated R horror film to have come out in a long time. And possibly one of the greatest revenge films I've seen. Yeah, it's a "paint by numbers" but the raw emotions and raw fights add ALOT to it. They definitely captured the essence of a family, which makes what happens all the more powerful.

I saw the film with my dad, he thought it was okay. But, the one thing that I noted was that he was somewhat timid about me wandering around outside of college (I go to college away from home) and made a point of me promising him that I was going to take extra precaution to be safe. So, I'm pretty sure the film had an effect on him too.

Overall a great raw, although paint by numbers, revenge flick.

9/10

i really dont like how they released a pic of john goodman with the gang member , especially with the caption Philadelphia's Daily News gave under it in there review.

gives away his entire [from what I heard mysterious] character

should've seen this instead of halloween tonight, probably would've been a lot less *******s in the crowd.

the scene where the car goes off the garage looked cool

I might ditch Labor Day dinner and go see this on Sunday..

Are there any dance numbers? Fire and brimstone preachers?

No?

This isn't a Kevin Bacon movie!

I agree with you. This is a really great movie. It's sad, but intense, and played for realism in a lot of ways. You don't see too many Death Wish kinds of movies like this. I'm looking forward to Jodie Foster's The Brave One, which is also in the same vein as well.

Kevin Bacon is excellent in the movie. I really recommend the film.

i think i might end up seeing the brave one instead...

i just think jodie foster can NEVER dissapoint...

I might see this sometime next week, looks cool trailer.

+ she's hot

Back to the topic. Definitely seeing this when it hits the Finnish screens. Though it doesn't have a release date yet. Goddamnit. :csad:

I competely agree with tempest i really loved this movie, the emotional setting of this movie was perfect which also made it a bit harder for me to watch it because i went to see it with my brother.nuff said.:csad:
It really makes you think what would i do if this happend to me.
Also i like how James Wan sneaks the jigsaw puppet into his latest movies. Did anybody else see it in death sentence :cwink: Its pretty obvious so im sure everybody that saw the movie saw it.

Wow, that blew away my expectations. This is a far more intense film than Halloween. It's emotionally gripping, great performanes, some of Clouser's best music yet, and as good of a look at the price of vengeance without glorifying it as any movie has ever had.

"Everybody thinks they're right in a war...everybody still dies in the end" is one of the best lines in any movie all year.

If someone who worships Monica Bellucci tells me this movie is great, then it is great
I can't wait to watch this! :D

Edit: Stormy....how are the action scenes? Just shooting? Hand to hand fights?
