A 20-year-old man was lucky to be alive after he climbed a fence to jump into the enclosure of a Bengal white tiger at a zoo in Chengdu, Sichuan on Sunday morning so that he could 'feed the tigers'.

The man reportedly confronted the tigers in the enclosure and provoked them when he started inexplicably shouting at them and dancing around. The tigress was frightened enough by his exaggerated movements to retreat to the wall, but another tiger walked towards the man and even dragged him across the ground for a few meters.

Zoo staff quickly rushed in to rescue him after controling the tiger and, surprisingly, he walked away with police relatively unscathed.

When asked why he entered the enclosure, the man said that he 'simply wanted to feed the tigers'. The backpack he had brought into the enclosure was found to be filled with rice.

"If it had been a Siberian tiger, the consequences would have been unimaginable," a zoo staff member told the West China City Daily newspaper, noting that the tigers had just finished a meal of 16 pounds of meat.

One netizen suggested that if the tiger hadn't eaten in two days, the story would've ended much more tragically, as was the case in 2010 when a a zookeeper in Shanghai was mauled by a Bengal tiger after someone had forgotten to feed it the day before.

Yeah, I read that this story was false on Cracked the other day. Still, it is unfortunate. The tiger didn't care about the rice nor did he care enough to eat the man. He had other s*** to worry about like walking around.
