Deschanel and Gordon-Levitt Part of 500

No, that was a boyfriend about 2 guys later after she soiled my former friend. The funny thing was, I actually mocked the guy when he was trying to jump on TV by saying this girl (lets call her Mariah) messed him up. Needless to say, I later found out he actually was dating Mariah and was even calling her name on the bridge. I can't say I wasn't shocked, she was good with head games.
 
No tears, just some frowning, drinking, smoking, and "what the hell was I thinking" head shaking.

Most guys are either scarred for life by some of these types of women, or just use them as a life lesson and make smarter choices on who to share their time with in the future.
 
Yeah, I would think that'd mess you up mentally for a while.
Think Dave from 40 year old virgin, Paul Rudd's character.
 
I'll check this out, but I know it will probably bum me out given what I've heard about it.
 
I love this movie. It's a film that isnt afraid to hurt your feelings and make you think about your past relationships. This is just a great film.
 
the end is exactly how i always wanted to end a movie (though i've never had time to actually write it). it's simply circumstance and coincidence that anything ever happens; the only reason the name "autumn", for example, seems improbable is because he just dated a girl named summer. it's all relative and circumstantial. and most of all, it is not totally unrealistic. it's unlikely, but very easily acceptable in life.

also, i love that they didn't end up together (tom and summer). the movie was good (though i don't know if i'd consider it great), but i'm absolutely infatuated with the ending. i've thought of a hypothetical ending to a movie like this for a few years now in my head and after seeing this movie i'm surprised and delighted by seeing something similar onscreen.

i wish i had time to learn how to write a proper screenplay and had something like a couple months just to write stuff.
 
Finally picked this up on Blu-ray after months of hearing how good it was and can I just say...I COMPLETELY AGREE.

This movie was very well done. Simple story with a unique approach. The actors were perfect in their roles.

Favorite scene obviously was the dance scene but I also enjoyed some simple scenes such as Tom on his blind date then doing nothing but venting then drunk kareoke, the opening scene when his sister comes over and they cut to him in the kitchen breaking dishes. Even the little dialogue scene when Summer 'breaks up' with him:

Summer: "All we do is argue."
Tom: "That is bull****!"

And of course, I loved the ending as it seemed much more realistic as to what would probably really happen with these two by having them not be together...although Summer getting married was kind of a surprise.

Solid 9/10. :woot:

I saw this a few weeks ago, certainly lived up to it's tag-line of "The rom com remixed!" great flick. :up:
 
Favorite part was after he sealed the deal and he walked out and looked in the window and the reflection was Han Solo :applaud
 
That was great. This is actually my favorite comedy of 2009 (yes, even more than The Hangover!). It is just so witty and satisfying to rewatch.

I absolutely love the Bergman Seventh Seal send-up when he goes to an indie theatre and imagines himself in it. I love how they handle his break-up moods and the misery of the day, as well as the musical number. This movie just leaves you smiling and makes a great date movie.

Favorite line:

"Well I said why make something as disposable as a building, when I can make something that will last forever, like a greeting card?"
 
my favorite movie of the year...saw it for the 3rd time just last night
 
JGL and Marc Webb must team up again for the new spiderman JGL for Peter Parker!!!
 
JGL has already worked with Nolan on Inception, he has to do the Joker dammit! :o
 
No, Gordon Levitt for the Winter Soldier in the Captain America films!

oh yes and I saw 500 days just yesterday. One of my new favourites, I loved it. I immediately went out and got the soundtrack
 
Finally got to see this over my "absence" from the Hype over the last couple weeks. Pretty funny, somewhat honest, really like the non-linear storytelling. One of the funniest part's to me was (*edit*) Tom's outburst on the bus... "I hate this ****ing song!!!", since I've done that in public places myself. But definitely something I would suggest for someone looking for coping after a tough break-up.
