The first issue was weird. It's all about secret societies and backroom politics with some religion and what I can only guess is a serious treatment of the Reptilian theory mixed in, if I recall correctly.

Yeah pretty much what Corp said. If you like your books conspiracy-lite, it's worth a look.

Huh. I like global conspiracies as much as the next guy, but this may be a little too...out there...for me.

Well, I remember reading an interview on CBR with the writer and he apparently wanted to do an accurate representation of his belief system. So, I assume it's meant to be a serious story.

I mentioned in another thread that the free Secret Invasion Saga one-shot changed my mind. It provided a really coherent history of the Skrulls and the events leading up to SI, and SI was always basically a decent idea, so I'm trying to put away my usual pessimism and give it a try. I suspect Bendis didn't write SI Saga, but if he can even approach its narrative coherence in the event itself, it has the potential to be a good read.
