Diamond List for April 30th, 2008

Speaking of Fraction, I just read The Five Fists of Science, which arrived from Amazon today along with the first volume of New Mutants Classic and Iron Man vs. Doctor Doom: Doomquest. Pretty fun read.

I was kinda confused by exactly what was happening in the epilogue (who has the machine and why they're disassembling it, etc.).

Pepper and Stane are going over to Invincible Iron Man afterward. Maybe the other Order people will be in that, too.

Henry better be in it too. Stark needs a guy friend now that Happy is dead.

He had Rhodey, but Rhodey's more machine than guy now, it seems. :(

For a guy he's "always had," Rhodey hasn't interacted much with Tony in the last decade.

And, technically, Dum Dum Dugan could also fill the void left by Happy. SHIELD is basically Tony's life now.

Dugan was a Skrull.

And I am hoping some of The Order that survive issue #10 make it into Fraction's IRON MAN book. Why not give Stark his own "squad" without trucking out the Mighty Avengers every 4 seconds?

And yes, Rhodey's usually been doing his own thing for years, unless you count "interacting" as doing whatever it is that Stark asks. Rounding up muties, running a superhero camp and being oblivious to corruption even though Gyrich was almost as obvious as Vince McMahon, etc.

Looks Good. I'll bump it up to a definate.
Yeah, Fraction said in an interview that he wanted to show why Odin decided Thor needed a lesson in humility, so his idea was basically to show a young Thor being as much of a *****e as he could make him.

I love Thor minis. I wish they could get Kolins to come back and do another. I was blown away by what he did on Blood Oath. Can't wait for this one.

I'd love to see Kolins and Oeming do another old-school Thor mini. Blood Oath was great.

I've always loved Kolins style, but the world he invented just seemed so lush (for lack of a better word) to me. Maybe his best work to date.

Asgard seems to inspire some great visuals from a lot of artists. I'm not a fan of Greg Tocchini in general, but his depiction of Asgard in Thor: Son of Asgard was pretty amazing.
