Seeing the Hunter/Killer TPB made me sad. We ever gonna see anymore issues of that series?

 

To me it is true. MIGHTY AVENGERS has usually been better, although for a while later, than NEW AVENGERS. It is usually less offensive. That isn't saying it isn't offensive at all in some way, just less so. It also sells worse than NA, so it is Bendis' "B-Avengers" title.

Yeah, it is unlikely we will see more H/K issues, considering how busy Waid was. The first 12 were horribly late anyway, although it was obviously leading to more. Oh, well.

 

I'd think Wolverine being on NA alone would be enough to have it sell better than MA

Shame about H/K. I hope it gets continued at some point before we die lol

Speaking for myself, I care because it is a well drawn and written superhero title. I'd rather 10 good issues of a cancelled series than 36 issues of a faithfully shipping ongoing that never evolve beyond spin cycled mediocrity. Or Ultimates 3.

I have thought about getting on HULK, though. We'll see.

 

In the just-posted CBR preview for #3, Loeb says Hawkeye had two kids, instead of three.

Eh, still trade waiting. That is my "official" stance.

So far the general consensus about BND ASM books that I have read across the Internet is, "They're not bad, sometimes even funny for the first time in a decade for Spidey, but it has OMD as ore and I hated OMD." On the one end of the extreme are people who have forgotten or forgiven OMD, which is essentially swallowing the company line (In the "Director's Cut" of the Slott FCBD story from 2007, Tom B. I hear goes on a manifesto about "where Spidey went wrong" to more than likely justify having Mephisto demonically annul his marriage). On the other side of that extreme are the types who hate the new continuity, or are confused, and hate BND.

The irony is that I have learned to go without a Spider-title in my life for so long, I really don't care much anymore about buying one. Every time I take a dip, it either is **** or leads to **** or is trying to crawl out of ****. Maybe all major franchise characters are like that sometimes, but since the Clone Saga for me it seems to never, ever stop. That was part of why I took USM's quality demise very hard. I was genuinely looking forward to Slott on ASM, and the OMD happened, especially issue #4. It is too much. To enjoy it is to then say that OMD was worth it, and I really don't think it is (or was), or want to admit to it being so. If they wanted to end the damn marriage, there were far better ways than a demonic annullment, randomly reviving Harry, erasing any GOOD details from the JMS era (like Peter being a teacher; what a goldmine to be wasted as it was), and so on. The way they did it was so...DC.

March 8th has the debut of the SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN cartoon and I will probably get my fix there. Although I could see myself being very irked if it actually sucks.

 

I guess you have to be smart enough to know how to read comics "individually", and not under the same scrutiny. You're probably somebody that praises Thunderbolts for the same sins that Ultimates 3 commits, while I shut my brain off for such books, and just enjoy the ride.
