SECRET INVASION FRONT LINE #3
SECRET WARS ALEX ROSS POSTER-And I be laminating that fooker! :cmad:

Is it any good?

Pretty good. My biggest complaint is how some of the characters look just like the ones from Anita Blake. Best of all, it's not as drawn out or wordy, like previous Dabel Bros. comics have been.

Isn't that kind of unfair criticism for the second issue. The first issue of The Authority was solid and, frankly, I'm just glad we're getting a second issue before we're all old and gray at this point.

None of the first issues were very original, as they all pretty much had the exact same story: Heroes deal with Number of the Beast aftermath, saving survivors of World's End and fighting some random bad guys who revel in this new world. None of them stood out.

I do agree about being happy getting a second issue soon after the first; it's just the last Authority series (a whole two issues long) captured my interest so much more. Sadly, we'll never see a conclusion to it.

Well, Wildcats v3.0 was probably the peak of the Wildcats, but what are you gonna do? Things may seem similar right now, since all the titles are essentially starting from the same point, but I think they'll branch out and develop their own identities within an arc or two. There are a lot of possibilities inherent in the new direction, at least. Whether they're seized upon is another matter.

Are the Frontline event tie-ins still pointless and boring? I was tricked into thinking it would be good during Civil War...

Never again.

I'm more interested in finding out how useless Hawksmoore will be with all the cities pretty much destroyed.

Never again.

Civil War: Frontline started out really good. It was the later issues that really bothered me... specifically their downing Iron Man, and especially Captain America. I thought that made the whole series fall flat. But the first few issues with Iron Man Vs Prodigy, The Camera Man's funeral, Jonah's reaction to Peter's unmasking, etc... was handled really well. And of course, most of the other stories bored me.

I don't think anyone asked this yet, but will these still be out tomorrow or will we have to wait til Thursday due to Labor day?

Does Punisher: War Journal still suck?

Somewhat. The Jigsaw story picked up a tad last issue with the Wrecking Crew, but right now it is on the verge of MOON KNIGHT territory where I drop it from sheer apathy.

I mean, HATING a book is at least an emotional response. When I feel absolutely nothing besides finishing the pages, is usually when I call it a day on a series.

I visited my LCS today and they said they won't know if it comes in tomorrow until they go to pick it up and it's there or not.
