Yes, I know they can always add other heroes. But, by saying Superman was the only hero in the pilot. They really boxed them in to a corner. Supes has been active for 15yrs. So the Justice League should have formed. With that we should have had all of the other heroes. Now, I am not saying any or all of them should appear. But, by that simple statement. you preclude them from appearing. Unless, they just appear as new heroes.

I don't see the need. Next season should have enough Legionnaires if they do things right.

They've already got Supergirl, Superman, and Martian Manhunter. Plus Flash is coming, as is
The Guardian

That's not bad for a first season.

There's also an unnamed city full of masked heroes (possibly Star City or Gotham City) out there, and the confirmed existence of the Legion of Superheroes as well, so I'd say there's more than enough hero setup already existing on SG-Earth; all they need to do is expand on it.

I'm fine with what they have done...I don't want a whole slew oh superheroes. That is a problem I have with Arrow.

What if, prior to Supergirl, Superman were the world's only self-proclaimed superhero? Or at least the the world's only superhero as acknowledged by the media? That would leave the series open to other heroes, just that the media hasn't officially recognised them as such yet.

Maybe someone like Batman, if he did exist there, wouldn't be considered a superhero but just a vigilante. Same with the Green Arrow.

You mean more heroes for people to complain about for never showing up?

Maybe they don't make a habit of showing up on Supergirl's world, but do their own thing, which is why they're not considered heroes by the public.

Of course, Superman could be guilty of that, as people might wonder where he is in times of crisis for Supergirl. But maybe he's just abstaining at her request, whereas other existing heroes might not show up anyway even if requested.

They've actually introduced more heroes in Season 1 of Supergirl than Arrow did. Correct me if I am wrong but Oliver was the only hero in Season 1 of Arrow, the others didn't really start showing up until season 2.

In the first season, we have Martian Manhunter, Red Tornado, and pre-Guardian Jim Harper. Flash will appear via multiverse crossover.

If and when Supergirl gets a 2nd season, I hope more heroes will be introduced a little bit more.

I hope they introduce Steel, Superboy, Eradicator, Cyborg Superman (return of the real Hank Henshaw), Ms. Martian, Captain Atom, Bombshell, Major Force and a heroic Red Tornado at some point in the future.
Captain Atom, Bombshell, and Major Force introduced as government created and sponsored superheroes with Captain Atom and Bombshell going rogue as a result of Major Forces villainous actions.
Steel, Superboy, and Cyborg Superman could be introduced in a Reign of the Supermen story arc that would follow the death of Superman. It could feature the return of the real Hank as a superpowered cyborg who tries to take Superman's place as the new preeminent hero but is unstable and ultimately goes insane after he is rejected. Superboy could be brought on as a clone of Superman (although not half Lex but he could have other dna that was used to make him up). Steel should be established as John Henry Irons first so that if they do decide to use Steel it would be a nice payoff when he finally suits up as Steel.

The only one I really care about showing up is Cassie Sandsmark/Wonder Girl.

I highly doubt that Captain Atom is available, because they've handed most of his mythos to Flash already. If any show has Captain Atom appear, it'll probably be there.

plus we do have to remember certain characters might be off limits or x other show ie gotham or berlanti other show arrow/flash may want to use said characters. That is the problem when we dont know what characters are totally off the books and which ones are more likely to appear in any given show. Heck take for example that upcoming show powerless using the obsecure character crimson fox. For that show i bet all the big name guys be off the block from use and more c/d heroes/villains be in that show.

Supergirl is set in a different universe so I don't see why those other shows should even matter. With that said, the Super cousins are the only ones known to the world. That doesn't mean there aren't other smaller characters that aren't as flashy and public as them doing heroic things. Someone like a Nightwing for example, I see being low key and not being well known outside of his city

It makes no sense given the facts as they are to try and apply the "certain things are universally off-limits" mindset when thinking about the possibility of other superpowered characters being introduced, especially since it seems like we're on the verge of getting ourselves a fully Kryptonian Kal-El Superboy.

Well, it looks like we can cross the Jim Harper Guardian off the list. Blerg.

I do think with Superman in the world, they should have gone ahead and have other heroes exist instead of just Supes and MM who hid the entire time.

digic thing is we know from the behind the scenes stuff for any of these shows going back for an example to smallville and to the present with the arrowverse shows. There is blocks and limits to what characters are able to be used and what ones any number of shows dont have access to use. So you really cant say oh so and so can or cant be. As we can see there is many reasons for one show to have access to x set of characters and another cant use x show.

People can barely handle Superman not showing up. Having a bunch more heroes would have been that much worse.

This is what I was talking about in my last post. It is nonsensical and out of step with current facts to look at the way character access was handled in years past and say that the same principle applies currently.

It also does not make sense to take what is being done on one show and say that it sets a precedent across the board when there is no actual evidence of such being the case.

Other superheroes aren't Kara's cousin where it doesnt make sense for them not to show up.
