You might remember always wanting one of those Tag necklaces the main characters wore in Digimon Adventure back when the show first started. You can finally get yourself one, as Famitsu shows that they’re making replicas for the series’ 15th anniversary.
Considering the popularity of Digimon and the show at the time, it’s pretty surprising to see how they’ve waited this long to finally produce the items.
![]()
They come in the eight Crest varieties of Courage, Friendship, Love, Sincerity, Knowledge, Reliability, Hope, Light, and Kindness. You can also place the Crest on the Tag and press it to make it light up.

The Tag comes with a 70cm chain necklace, so it would actually be a pretty awesome cosplay item. Additionally, those who preorder the Tag by June will get a Tag-shaped pin, along with three Digivice pins to go with it.
[YT]6PNW-IbAwGU[/YT]
Bandai also made a little trailer for the upcoming Tag replica, so you can get a closer look, along with a little dose of nostalgia with the characters from Digimon Adventure.
The Digimon Adventure Tag and Crests will release sometime in June, and will go for 4,860 yen (tax-included).

Hello there, rainfallers!
It’s been a really long time since our last blog article, and a lot of things have happened. For starters, our petition (that recently celebrated its first year) just passed the 50.000 signatures milestone, which is absolutely amazing. We thank you from the bottom of our heart for your incredible support and dedication! We would have never reached such an incredible result without you all.
As some of you may already know, the goal of our petition changed a little, lately: it not only asks for the localization of Decode, now, but for EVERY Digimon game to make its return on the Western shores! We decided this in order to count in the latest announced game, Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth for PlayStation Vita, which is drawing the interests of many fans (and ours too, obviously).
[YT]GFn4DdpFNwA[/YT]
The most important event, anyway, is that Bandai Namco finally gave us a real answer!
In this sense, we have first to make a little clarification: we have noticed that quite a few people have thought that reaching the 50.000 milestone would have meant an “automatic” announcement of localization for Decode and/or Cyber Sleuth. We have to clarify that it is not the case. The thing we have been asking is for Bandai Namco is to consider a localization of the games, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it is a sure thing. We were saying that a minimum of 50.000 signatures was useful to try starting a discussion inside the company to decide the future of the Digimon franchise in the West. And Bandai Namco, in fact, seems to have heard our voices, and reading the following news will make you understand that they may already be considering.
About ten days ago, they announced a brand-new game in the franchise, named DIGIMON All-Star Rumble, exclusively for American, European and Australasian territories. The game is developed by the Japanese studio PROPE, founded by Sonic’s creator Yuji Naka who is already responsible for the Digimon Adventure anniversary game released on PSP two years ago in Japan. Saban Entertainment is also involved in the development. It is a party-arena brawling game, with a Powerstone-inspired 3D gameplay, presenting a roster of all-time loved digital monsters from the various animated series! It can be considered a new entry in the much-loved Digimon Rumble Arena series, which started way back in 2001 on the first PlayStation.
[YT]DbdqUsjEo1c[/YT]
In their press release, they finally and officially acknowledged our fan movement, as you can tell by their words:
“There are few fan bases as passionate as Digimon’s. The fans’ campaigns haven’t gone unnoticed, and we’re truly amazed by the amount of support they continuously show to their favorite series. We couldn’t be more thankful. We’re very excited to announce today DIGIMON All-Star Rumble! We hope fans will enjoy this brand new adventure in the Digital World, sure to be highly nostalgic and full of familiar faces like Agumon, Gabumon and many others.”
Chris Gilbert, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Bandai Namco Games America, also added:
“We are especially pleased to see Digimon fans rallying support for future Digimon video games to be localized in the Americas. With DIGIMON All-Star Rumble, we look forward to delivering a battle arena game experience that Digimon fans can really be excited to get their hands on.”
This is exciting news!
With All-Star Rumble (which will be released on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 next 11 November in America and sometime this fall in Europe/Australia, and more details about the game will be coming in the following weeks), Bandai Namco is probably going to test the waters for the future of Digimon franchise: they are aware of which games we want, but they need to see how big and how loyal the Digimon fanbase can really be, and to also reinvigorate the hype for the franchise (whose latest series, Digimon Fusion, is being aired in various parts of the world). Digimon have been absent from the market for 6-8 years, so localizing straight away a text-heavy game like Decode and/or Cyber Sleuth (which is still in development in Japan) would have been too risky without knowing how many people are actually going to buy it – a petition alone can’t give an exact estimate.
But if this is not enough for you, this article by Kevin Sanchez can give us another hope to see Digimon World Reigitize Decode localized in the West:
“We asked one of the Namco Bandai PR if this game [DIGIMON All-Star Rumble] was announced previously under the radar (since we thought we were living under a rock) but it was indeed a new title announced that day.
I was told that they were excited to finally announce a Digimon game but they were also very nervous since it wasn’t Digimon World Reigitize [Decode]. When we asked if they were aware of the petition they told us that they were aware and they were amazed that it has gotten so many supporters.
Although they still have nothing to announce for Digimon World Reigitize [Decode], there seems to still be some hope for it to come overseas.”
It’s possible that the final outcome of this situation will partly depend on the performance of All-Star Rumble, but if they are willing to release this new Digimon game in the West – a Japanese release is not planned, at the moment – it’s the proof that they may already be considering a localization of other games in the series. They just need the right motivation, which in this case is a large interest and satisfying sales.
That is why we encourage every Digimon fan out there, if the game inspires you even just a little bit and you have a PS3 or a X360 (or are planning to get either), to preorder or buy DIGIMON All-Star Rumble as soon as possible. Signing on the petition is important, but concrete support is even better. The best thing we can do right now to have Digimon games back in the West is to actively support the Digimon games they are currently able to offer us.
While it’s true that All-Star Rumble is not exactly the game we’ve been asking for – we didn’t even know it existed, before they announced it! – it sure is a step in the right direction. Most importantly, it does look promising and fun, and it kindles a new hope for the future of Digimon games in the West. But it’s not just for these reasons that we should support it, but especially because it’s been years since the last Digimon game we had: it’s a special occasion that we should all celebrate by having fun with our beloved digital monsters.
In the meantime, like always, I invite you to continue sharing our petition to people who are interested in those games! Let’s reach even higher numbers, that together with the sales of All-Star Rumble, will make our point on Decode and Cyber Sleuth even more stronger.
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed this news.
PS: just in case some of you still don’t know, Toei Animation announced a new Digimon animated series for next Spring in occasion of the 15th anniversary of the anime! It will apparently have the same characters from the very first, glorious series, but we’ll see them in their high school years! One of the most notable things is that Toei Animation published a trailer in English language, dedicated to “all DigiDestined in the world”! Could they be planning a triumphant worldwide comeback of the Digimon franchise?! That is something we all must wish and be excited for!

A PlayStation 4 listing for Digimon World: Cyber Sleuth has appeared on Amazon Canada.
This would, of course, be the English localization for Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, which launched for PS Vita in Japan in February.
Bandai Namco has been localizing its Japanese games with added PlayStation 4 versions lately. Tales of Zestiria, previously PlayStation 3-only, got a PlayStation 4 (and PC) version. J-Stars Victory VS+, previously PlayStation 3 and PS Vita-only, got a PlayStation 4 version. And Godzilla, previously PlayStation 3-only, got a PlayStation 4 version. Even Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment, previously launched for PS Vita, is getting a PlayStation 4 version this summer.
A PS Vita version of the game is not listed.

Digimon RPG due out in western territories in early 2016.

At Comic-Con in New York on Friday, we sat down with Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth producer Kazumasa Habu to discuss the RPGs upcoming English release.
Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth features more than 200 Digimon and lets players become a cyber detective, gathering clues and solving a digital mystery. Players can scan, raise, and train Digimon to battle alongside them against a mysterious groups of hackers. First launched in Japan for PS Vita in February 2015, the western release will ship for PlayStation 4 at retailers and for PS Vita via the PlayStation Store. It will launch in North America and Europe in early 2016.
Find our full interview below.Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth was being promoted during Digimon Adventures 15th anniversary. What was the focus working on a Digimon game during such an important period in the franchises history?Watch a two-hour gameplay video of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth below.
Habu: As you mentioned, the 15th anniversary was last year in Japan. As you know, the Digimon IP was first delivered as a franchise for the children. Well, 15 years have passed since then, and now those kids are all grown up. So last year, we were focusing on how we can attract those old fans, who were once kids, to buy our game and get interested in Digimon again. So when we were creating the game, that was our focus.
Thats actually one of the things I wanted to talk about. When it was still coming out in Japan, Bandai Namco called Cyber Sleuth a Digimon game for adult fans. What is it about the game that shows that?
First, theres the game system, which we didnt want to change, because thats a big characteristic of the Digimon story and world. We didnt change the game system, so players can still collect Digimon, meet all kinds of Digimon, customize their own team, and go out to battle, and thats what youll actually do in the game. Whats new about the game is that we updated the narrative world of Digimon and created an original story just for the game. So we think the story will attract more older fans.
Why make an internet-based, cyberpunk Digital World over the more traditional-style Digital World this time?
Actually, the world of Cyber Sleuth is not only the internet-based world. One part is Tokyo, a kind of imaginary Tokyo which we might see in the near future, and then on the other side we have this cyber world called EDEN. As you know, Digimon are kind of programs based on data. We want our fans to accept this kind of setting in the game very naturally, so we have two parts to the worldthe future reality Tokyo and the cyber world where players encounter Digimon. So its basically kind of a new design that we want our new players to accept.
Another thing I want to add about the settingwere planning to attract more and more new players, including those that didnt really know about Digimon or the franchise before, so we want players to be able to accept the setting very naturally, which is why we went with this real world and cyber world. In the game, players first encounter Digimon in the cyber world, which of coursethe internet is so developed, and everyone has used the internet in their lives, so this kind of setting hits close to home and makes them feel as if they can encounter these Digimon in reality. And then these players can collect and customize them, and those Digimon can come out into the real world in the game.
Suzuhito Yasuda, who is known for his artwork on the Devil Survivor games, did the character artwork for Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth. This is his second Digimon title, but the first were seeing in the west. Why choose Yasuda-san?
One of the reasons we picked Yasuda-san to design the characters in this gamethe first reason is because he designed the characters in the previous game, Digimon World Re: Digitize. We used him for that game and since it was successful, we wanted him to design the characters this time, too.
The second thing is probably because, during the planning stages, we thought that Digimon fans are getting older and older, so instead of very cute-style characters, we wanted more realistic designs. And one of Yasuda-sans characteristics is that he designs characters very simply, and its very easy for people to get used to his designs. He doesnt put any complicated characteristics into these characters.
As you know, the main characters in the world are the Digimon, and when you level up those Digimon, their characteristics get complicated, and youll see a lot of different features within each Digimon. So on the other side, Digimon are the main characters of our game. But then on the other side for the human characters, those who raise the Digimon, we dont want them to be very complicated. We want them to be very simple, but with a strong image in the players mind. And thats one of Yasuda-sans best traits.
Your starter Digimon choices are Terriermon, Palmon, or Hagurumon sort of a motley crew selection. Why choose these three over the traditional Agumon, Gabumon, and so on?
We picked those three Digimon as the default monsters is that we have set three types of Digimon. The three types are Data, Vaccine, and Virus. During battles, the three types of Digimon have their own characteristics. For example, you have to use Data types to defeat Vaccine types, and those kinds of things. So we figured that using three different types of Digimon as the default was the best idea.
Another thing is that weve had Agumon and Gabumon as the main Digimon in many previous games, and theyre already beloved by many people. So instead of using them as the default Digimon, we wanted them to be more like the other characters, main characters in the story. And if you really want Agumon and Gabumon on your team, you can just try your best to encounter them by luck or by effort.
In previous Digimon Story games, you had this system where positioning certain Digimon next to each other gave them stat boosts. Why was that removed in Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth?
When we designed the game, we picked the Digimon Story series game systems instead of the Digimon World systems because we wanted a simplified battle system for new players to get into. We wanted this battle system to be very simple. Instead of the positioning thing, we redesigned the battle system with different kinds of features. For example, we have three types of Digimon, then we have eight different kinds of attack patterns for each Digimon. Then we have the speed system, which if the Digimons stats are speedy, he is faster at attacking others. If you really think the positioning part of the battle system is interesting and that people enjoy it, you can tell us and we can think about putting it in the next game!
One of the new features of the western release in New Game Plus. Can you talk a bit about that?
We want players to finish the story easily in their first playthrough of the game. And in the second playthrough, they can maintain the data for the customized Digimon they obtained in the first playthrough. In that regard, we think players can challenge the harder levels in their second playthrough. One of the fun parts of the game is collecting many kinds of Digimon, so we want players to taste the story in the first round, then afterwords collect and customize more.
In North America, and just recently confirmed for select European countries, there will be a physical release for PlayStation 4. Is there a possibility well see a limited run physical release for PS Vita, as well?
(Habu signals to Bandai Namco PR rep.)
Bandai Namco PR rep: Come to our panel on Sunday.
Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth is being released on PlayStation 4 in North America and Europe, but is only available for PS Vita in Japan. Is there a possibility that new Digimon games will be made for more platforms from the get-go?
Habu: This time, we announced the PlayStation 4 physical version because we think PlayStation 4 has a lot of players in North America and Europe, so thats why we added it as one of the platforms. And we knew we had a lot of fans here in the global market because of the petition for the games localization. The petition gave us a lot of strength and confidence that we can still bring Digimon to a lot of fans here in North America. So if we continue to listen to the voices of our fans, we can probably get into all kinds of platforms.
Do you have a role in the development of Digimon World: Next Order? Can you say which team is developing it?
Im sorry. Im not on the team for Digimon World: Next Order, so I wouldnt know about the details.
Thank you for your time, Futami-san.
