Digital Comics vs. Traditional Comics...which is better?

What sort of reader are you using?

I find the zoom feature to be incredibly useful to cut down on eye-strain. I used to read digital comics on the iPad until I purchased a Nook. Now I read all my digital comics on my Surface through the Nook app, and the zoom feature is helpful. Plus the screen itself doesn't cause a lot of strain... Not sure if this applies to all readers or electronic devices.

For me, it depends on what kind of reader you are, and what you want to get out of the comic.

I love having the physical copy in my hands, literally turning the pages, and seeing what comes next. If something happens to the comic, that's on me.

That being said. I do see the advantages of Digital Comics. You don't have to worry about ruining the comic, you can read them from your PC, tablet, phone, etc. you can zoom in without hurting your eyes and see the (hopefully) great art that the artist did, it's all very nice.

In fact, I sell my comic Guardians digitally so that it can reach more people than it would if I tried to print it myself.

Again, it all has to deal with preference.

I use YACReader (Yet Another Comic Reader) on the iPad. It's relatively new for the iPad but has had a Mac/Windows based library app for a while.

I had ComicZeal for years but frankly hate the new update for iOS7. YACReader has the layout I prefer, and to my knowledge can do everything CZ does.
