Anyone who's ever heard of Dino Riders probably remembers it, because it was a very simple yet totally awesome concept: dinosaurs + futuristic weapons = win. It may have been a fairly short-lived series that only aired 14 episodes, but the toyline managed to stick around for a few years, and that's probably what most people (myself included) remember. I can barely remember the actual show (I was a toddler at the time), but I certainly remember playing with the toys that my friends and their older siblings had.
So I got to thinking-- when is someone going to revive this long dormant franchise? If they would just take the simple concept of the original series-- humans riding on armored dinosaurs with futuristic weapons-- and gave it a modern-day makeover with a story that feels fresh and relevant to todays' audience, I'm sure there are plenty of kids who would tune in. And of course, you can't forget that there would be a multi-million-dollar toy line attached to a Dino Riders revival, which would certainly be motivation for the big wigs to do it.
After 20 years, I think it's about friggin' time the Dino Riders got some respect! If they were to revive it correctly, it could easily be many times more popular than the original was!
