I was thinking sadly about days gone by when Dino Crisis 2 was around....I was a Resident Evil junkie (well still am) and was intrigued. I played Dino Crisis and it had dinosaurs but was too slow paced for my liking. But the second game was AWESOME. The pace, graphics at the time, storyline, dinosaurs....everything. Gigantasaurus. everything. Like Bioshock, it was haunting in the way it tdepicted a community and civilisation in ruins was awesome, and the final twists and ending were some of my favourites. It seemed to promise a direct sequel...I couldn't wait.
Then Dino Crisis 3 came along. When I first read it would be set on a space station, alarm bells rung. 'Dinosaurs in space???wtf???'. It seemed as if it was doomed already, not to mention it wasn't even a direct sequel to the cliffhanger of 2. I prayed it wouldn't suck. God ignored me. It's one of the worst games I have ever played, and probably killed a once great franchise (the second game is pure classic gaming). I don't know how it went so wrong.
The sad thing is DMC, a lame ass franchise that keeps doing the same thing, is still going strong while DC remains dead. so friends, raise a glass in honor for the death of dc, and to the memory of the beautiful dino crisis 2.
