Okay I'm sure this topic comes up all the time but I just had to ask. I mean I know the DD DC is like a whole different movie. But the other DCs are they worth it?

Ghost Rider
Elektra
Punisher

I haven't seen any of those DCs are they worth it?

I wouldn't say that they are really different.
All it is is more violence and language with added (and mostly irrelevant) deleted scenes. With Daredevil, there was a whole sub-plot put in, along with the extra violence, cursing, and deleted scenes.

For Ghost Rider, not really. For Elektra, I don't know, didn't watch it. For The Punisher, it makes you understand some plotholes better, so yes that one does.

Obviously that would depend entirely on the movie. for example, the Daredevil director's cut turned a piece of poo into a passable film. Richard Donner's cut of Superman II practically turned it into a different movie. Some director's cuts add little new footage (sometimes even removing footage) it all depends on the film.

I would agree 100% with this.

Daredevil: Director's Cut turned the film around completely adding at least 30 extra minutes of story, filling in plotholes and making the movie completely better.

Ghost Rider is actually just called the Extended Edition, since Mark Steven Johnson didn't want to call this one "Director's Cut." There are a few scenes added here and there, including a different version of the meeting between Blackheart and Mephisto, and there's a scene involving Blackheart and the Caretaker which explains some more about demons walking on hollowed ground. Overall, it didn't add much to the theatrical cut, but it did add some. Being a huge Ghost Rider fan, I bought this version, but I don't think it's neccessary for everybody, as the DD: DC is.

Elektra, didn't even realise they released a director's cut. The theatrical edition was complete and utter crap though beyond the first 10 minutes, so unless they changed the entire movie, I doubt much was changed.

Punisher, never saw this one, but I did watch the theatrical cut a few days ago, and there were a few scenes that I think could've been improved on -- maybe they were in the DC.

On the Marvel Gateway site I'm making about all the Live Action Marvel properties, each movie page is going to have a "DVD" section, which will cover the "Director's Cuts" and the ".5" editions as well.

...

Superman II: Donner's Cut was quite amazing. Several new scenes and pretty much, a new movie.

This one is actually pretty decent. Adds a nice sub-plot with the cop who sold him out, and the new animated intro is neat, it doesn't add TOO much to the film, but it's substantial (and short) enough where I don't really understand why it wasn't in the theatrical cut to begin with...

Okay for Punisher there was a whole subplot that was missing from the theatrical cut. Thats why the DC makes the Punisher a better movie, imo.

Is it up to the standards of DD DC? No. But nothing can top the DD DC.

DD DC is one of the bests. It adds the whole story to the movie that it was missing. It is the Superman II: Donner's cut of the marvel line, imo.

The Elektra DC was a lil bit nicer cuz of the more violence. I like havin the violence be a lil bit more apparent in it.

Ghost Rider DC gave u more story between Johnny Blaze and his father, mostly, before he was taken from him by the devil.

Is the Fantastic Four extend cut worth getting? I'm heade to town today and am debating on if I should get this or not.

It is. There are some awkward things about it (like Reed and Sue have the same discussion twice in a row), but it adds some character depth the theatrical lacked.

Plus, the bonus features on it are outstanding

^ Plus the fact the DVD contains the theatrical cut in edition to the extended cut. No reason not to have it.

The DD DC was an improvement over the DD theatrical, but the romance between Daredevil/Matt Murdock and Elektra was still half assed in the DC.

I think in the case of DD the Director's cut definitely made a difference. Personally, I like both versions, but prefer the Director's cut more.

DD and Punisher director cuts were better than the originals.

Ghost Rider director/extended cut didn't really make a difference at all

Haven't seen Elektra or FF director cuts however I will get the FF one later

yes it does...when you put in the dvd it'll ask you if you want the DC or the Theatrical version of it
I know why mine doesn't have it,it's coz I'm from the UK lol :oldrazz:
Mine is only 1 disc, and only has a 10 minute Silver Surfer feature :csad:
But I'm gonna get the 2 disc extended edition off Amazon soon :woot: :hyper:

Sounds pretty good; I've been putting off getting the regular FF DVD for awhile, so maybe the extended cut would be worth it.

It is. You get both versions, plus some pretty good featurettes on not only the comic book, but Jack Kirby as well.

The Elektra "DC" was actually worse as far as I"m concerned...

I don't care for Elektra, so I haven't seen the difference. But for Ghost Rider & Punisher the difference is significant.

what those significant in punisher and ghost rider?

what those significant in punisher and ghost rider?

In Ghost Rider there is more exploration on the relationship between father and son. There is also extra footage on the young Roxy. So Johnny's loss feels heavier because we know them better. The initial meeting between Mephisto and Blackheart is also changed to fit more into the story, and reveal more between that father and son. Finally, the Caretaker gets back a scene on his own meeting with Blackheart.

In Punisher, significant parts are the original beginning and the death of Frank's old partner. In the new intro we see Frank's war experience. You get a glimpse of his doubts over the political handling of justice. Then his final confrontation with his treacherous friend brings more significance to his new attitude as the Punisher.

dd dc was a whole different film.much better.
