Disaster Movie has FLOPPED!!!!!

Yes, in spite of all the doom and gloom of a weekend where we lose another legend of the cinema and many things are being Fed-Ex-ed to Hell in a hand cart, there is genuine good news. Disaster Movie, a picture that was made for 20 million dollars, has only grossed no more than 15 million in total which means the movie has officially FLOPPED!!!!!! The careers of those two useless ass****s comes closer to an end. There is hope, after all.

they were making fun of movies that were too close to their release dates...this has proved to be the wrong formula...and it killed the scary movie sequels. They were no longer making fun of any one genre...they lumped em all together and hopefully they realized audiences have had enough...and besides...you advertise making fun of universally accepted movies...your insulting people and not laughing with them...

Superhero Move is actually really funny. Some of the gags are predictable and lame but some catch you off guard, like the hospital scenes.

Okay, fine, DVD sales, as I try not to snicker at that. Let's break it down as so, the movie is 5 to 6 million dollars in the hole as we speak. They sell the video for 20 bucks on average. Doing the math, it would take more than about 250,000 bona fide morons joining forces and EACH buying a copy of this slush just for ANYONE to turn a profit. I understand times like this can allow doubt to thrive, but let's focus on the failure aspect of this fiasco. It FLOPPED!!! Believe in hope!!! Do it for Mel Brooks, do it for Monty Python, do it for the South Park guys!!

How come everytime someone mentions their dislike of Superhero Movie, someone has to comeback with it not being by the same guys that have done Disaster Movie? I mean, so what? If someone doesnt like it, why not just leave it at that? Just because it isnt by the guys who created this little "masterpiece," doesnt mean its any better.

And, to be clear, I dont mean to go after you in particular, Majik, but I just dont get why people keep saying that it isnt buy Seltzer and whats-his-name like it will make some sort of a difference. It really doesnt make it any better...

Now, Superhero Movie, was actually pretty watchable. It wasn't nearly as mindless, unfunny, badly acted and random as the Disaster/Epic/Date/Meet The Spartan movies.

Take it from someone who's actually seen all five films unfortunately (well, at least most of each movie. Some were too bad for me to sit through the entirety)!

Umm because this thread is about Disaster Movie flopping, and its because of the hacks who made it, who also happened to make Date, Epic movie, and Meet the Spartans...
Now if this was a thread based on the Scary movies, then it would sort of make sense, since it would be the same crew. But just because they are "Genre Movie" does not mean they're the same people.

Probly because the Scary movies and Superhero movie actually do try to have some sort of originality in their movies while still making fun of other movies as opposed to only relying on pop culture references.

Yeah...The first Scary Movies had a lot of pop culture references, but at least they were a tad bit more clever in integrating them in the story. With Disaster Movie and Meet the Spartans, they just didn't care at all. Literally, every five or six lines of dialogue, the movie would just come to a halt and there'd be a sidetrack of culture reference joke and most of the time, they were never funny and you'd see the same actors playing different characters over and over. It was just sad!
