Whoops, I screwed up the poll. When I read "In favor (reinforcing gay marriage as a state issue)," I assumed the Against option was the opposite not an extension. I probably would be for making it a federal issue.
 
There was some blow-hard on the news saying if it was passed he'd half to do the tough decision and withdraw his children from the scouts fearing for their safety and security..... *eye roll
 
There are a fair number of parents vowing to remove their children from the Boy Scouts because of this.
 
Why would anyone gay want to join this group?

I mean, I get fighting them, since they get government money, but once you win, why would you want to be part of a group that used to outright hate you (and probably still does), and only grudgingly let you in because of outside pressure?

I think its more about those who grew up in it able to stay in it.

Personally if you've hit puberty and still are in the scouts... It just gets a little weird anyway imo...

Just a little funny thing I saw on TV, people protesting both for and against the gays in the scouts are doing it outside the "Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center". It was pretty funny on TV seeing the anti gay protestors doing it infront of a sign that says Gaylord T....." wish I could find a picture

His organization, along with Scouts, parents, and volunteers who support overturning the ban, have been rallying in Texas for days, across from the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center, where more than 1,400 BSA voting members from across the United States cast their votes this afternoon.

Doubly funny after I read that the vote for should gays be allowed in the scouts happened at the "Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center". How could they lose that one. lol

Fry is doing a documentary about being gay in different parts of the world.

What the government of Uganda, including the President himself, has said for decades about the Acholi people as a whole, is just as crazy...
 
I thought we could use a new poll after the Boy Scouts decision was finally announced. Please be sure to vote in the poll above!

I'm glad they decided to lift the ban on gay youth. I really wish they would've lifted the ban on gay scout leaders though. To suggest, in any way, that a gay scout leader is incapable of leading a group of scouts is ridiculous.
 
Marx, I don't think it's a matter of them thinking a gay scout leader of being capable, it's a matter of them thinking there's going to be a lot of kid-raping going on.
Of course, they would deny that's the real reason.

Im sure the level of kid raping will stay the same regardless. Non homosexuals can still be male child molestors. And Im sure there's closeted gay creepers men that won't go anywhere till caught
