Basically they are dubbing it as Avengers for fairy tales.

....:o

I'm gonna end up watching this.

I love the idea since I heard it in Honest Trailers.

Wait, is this actually happening or?

for real?? live action or animated?

I'm down for this...Honestly.

Need Amy Adams 'Giselle' as an original Disney "Princess" character to come in at the end of the movie to tell Cinderella that's she's not the only Princess and that she's part of a bigger universe.

Shouldn't that be a fairy godmother?

Paradigm’s David Boxerbaum and veteran lit manager Jake Wagner are out with a hot new spec titled PRINCESSES that studios are salivating over since it’s described as a female-driven Avengers featuring classic fairy tale princesses.
Nir Paniry wrote the script and Lawrence Grey is set to produce under his Grey Matter banner.

The spec is being sent to all buyers simultaneously, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales director Joachim Ronning is attached to the package for Disney, and possibly other territories as well.

With the recent success of Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, Moana, and other narratives that promote strong, independent female characters, Princesses is coming out at the appropriate time. No word on which princesses are included in the action-adventure spec, but they’re likely iconic princesses popularized by Disney yet still in the public domain.
In addition to helming the fifth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Ronning is also known for directing the adventure pic Kon-Tiki as well as directing episodes of Netflix’s Marco Polo. He’s represented by UTA and Brillstein Entertainment.
Paniry is a veteran storyboard artists who wrote and directed the 2012 sci-fi drama Extracted featuring Ty Simpkins, as well as a handful of short films. He’s repped by Paradigm (which has been on a spec-selling roll of late) and Good Fear Film + Management.

I've wanted this ever since it sort of happened in one of the Shreks.

Who would be the villain? Maleficent?

Ah so this is not a team up film with the likes of Lilly James and Emma Watson.

And I thought the 21 Jump Street/ Men in Black mash was bad. I would like to think Disney won't stoop so low. This idea feels very SONY.

They should just make this a sequel to Into The Woods, adding in Emma Stone as Mulan, Angelina Jolie as Tia, Reese Witherspoon as Pocohontas and Rebel Wilson as Elsa.

I do feel it may come off a little redundant if they don't switch it up. Between Into The Woods, Descendants, Ever After High, Once Upon a Time, etc.

it would be funny it they set it in modern times and in NY.

I could see the Disney Channel doing something like this. That's kind of what they did with The Descendants, right? Instead of using the kids of villains, they'd just use the princesses.

Who would be the leader though, my money is on Snow White....

This would be an interesting build up to set up a potential live action Kingdom Hearts

I'm down tbh. Though that first post needs to post more info lol. This is most likely not going to be based on Disneys version of the Princesses.

Kingdom HEarts tho?

But I'm here for this if they get back all the cast members
