Paradigms David Boxerbaum and veteran lit manager Jake Wagner are out with a hot new spec titled PRINCESSES that studios are salivating over since its described as a female-driven Avengers featuring classic fairy tale princesses.
Nir Paniry wrote the script and Lawrence Grey is set to produce under his Grey Matter banner.
The spec is being sent to all buyers simultaneously, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales director Joachim Ronning is attached to the package for Disney, and possibly other territories as well.
With the recent success of Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, Moana, and other narratives that promote strong, independent female characters, Princesses is coming out at the appropriate time. No word on which princesses are included in the action-adventure spec, but theyre likely iconic princesses popularized by Disney yet still in the public domain.
In addition to helming the fifth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Ronning is also known for directing the adventure pic Kon-Tiki as well as directing episodes of Netflixs Marco Polo. Hes represented by UTA and Brillstein Entertainment.
Paniry is a veteran storyboard artists who wrote and directed the 2012 sci-fi drama Extracted featuring Ty Simpkins, as well as a handful of short films. Hes repped by Paradigm (which has been on a spec-selling roll of late) and Good Fear Film + Management.
