Katy really wants to reclaim her golden era years with Teenage Dream and a lesser extent Prism and Dr. Luke was responsible for a lot of her hits along with Bonnie McKee.I wanted to root for Katy Perry but... Dr. Luke's involvement with this upcoming album and the new song (based from snippets) sounding below average really dampened my interest.
Maybe in KP7.... whenever that is.
I blame her for trying to force that "purposeful pop" label. Chained to the Rhythm worked for that, but then she pushes Bon Appetit and Swish Swish.I like that new song quite a bit and the music video is fun. Did not expect to see Trisha PaytasThe only Katy era that I actively followed, and really liked was Witness, which I guess is a controversial opinion. Seems like I'll be looking forward to this album as well.
Stealing this from Reddit, but she's making Liberation look great in comparison. This era is a disaster! But at least they already announced the album and pre orders. So come what may, the album is out in 2 months. Though of course, I also expect the album to flop.
She's really going for the books for a what popstar shouldn't do for a comeback!
Liberation is the Christina Aguilera album right?Stealing this from Reddit, but she's making Liberation look great in comparison.
Yep. Witness was Katy's Bionic and Smile was her Lotus. This would be her Liberation and like Christina who released Accelerate we have Woman's World.Liberation is the Christina Aguilera album right?
Christina Aguilera at that point, pretty much lost the momentum, given how long the gap between that and its predecessor.
I feel like certain artists aren't just meant to have that "longevity" in which 10 to 20 years or 4 to 7 albums later, they are still getting hits or at least critical reception. Though Christina got a grammy nomination from the liberation album iirc.Yep. Witness was Katy's Bionic and Smile was her Lotus. This would be her Liberation and like Christina who released Accelerate we have Woman's World.
I don't like how she's stuck trying to do the same kind of bubblegum pop. You would think after Witness she would try something else. I figured she would go a more Adult Contemporary route like P!nk, Kelly, and Gaga did.![]()
Katy Perry's 'Woman's World' isn't the feminist bop she promised. She's stuck in the past.
Katy Perry marks her big comeback with 'Woman's World,' but the song's empty messaging proves the singer can't keep up with modern pop audiences.www.usatoday.com
