Sleep is very important. Do you think you get enough sleep, or do you need more?

I think it depends upon my schedule. Without work I can sleep whenever I want and sleep in as long as I want. So I think I am getting enough sleep.

No. But I do appreciate how important it is.

I rarely get 8 hours. I average about 7. I'm told 9 is the desirable amount.

Depending on my schedule...I get enough. I hate sleeping in when I have to work the later shift. I sleep a lot on weekends when I'm not working.

I get around 6-7 hours on the weekdays. On the weekends I get around 8-9 hours.

Considering my body shoots for 10-12 hours of sleep a night these days I'm getting a wee bit too much sleep haha

For a while I had crap that was going on so I couldn't sleep but know I am trying to get back into a sleep patern but no I don't fell like I get enough sleep. Its just not possible has I am more of a night person so even if I am tried I cant go asleep early or I will wake up like ever hour or 2. I can only go to sleep at like 12 midnight and with work and having to get up earlie a lot of nights I only get like 7 hours of sleep has I have to get up at 7-8 a lot of times. So going to bed at like 12 getting up at 7-8 I get like 6-7 hours of sleep most nights and I fell like I need more like 9 hours. Not only that but even if I get like 12 hours of sleep if I have to get up earliy I fell tried no matter what has I am just not a morning person. So really the only time I don't fell sleep depred is when I can go to bed at like 12 or 1 and get up at 10 so days off.

I have heard that teenagers should get about 9:30 witch is impossible has with highschool and the time you have to get up that you would have to be in bed and asleep by like 8:30-9 and that is if you don't wake up at all in the middle of the night and that is like impossible no one goes to bed that earily lol. For adults I have heard they should get around 7:30 hours.

I often get the late shift at work (which gets me home around 3am) and between that and classes, I have an extremely irregular sleep schedule. One night I might get 10hrs, the next night I might get 3hrs. I pretty much never feel well-rested because I don't think my body even knows when it wants to wake up anymore, lol.

Yeah they say that the most important thing is that you should go to bed at the same time ever night no matter if it is 10, 11, 12 ect they say the biggest thing is to have a normal schedule. If you go to bed 1 night at 8 another night at 12 another at 1 ect its worse for u but a lot of people don't work an 8-5 so that can be hard to do.

I most definitely do not get enough sleep. At all. Between my bad back, and the bed I share with my girlfriend being a bit too small, sleep has become a distant memory at this point. I also hate the need for sleep. Too much cool **** to do during life. So much time wasted sleeping.

I know that I don't.

I get home at about 1:30am from work and for some reason every bit of tiredness I feel disappears as soon as I walk through the door.

I've been working 11pm-7:30am for the past 10 years and normally sleep from 8am-3 or 4pm.

I just got a fitness bracelet that tracks my sleep.

Last night I woke up once and had 3 hours of deep sleep and 4 hours of light sleep.

I get everything from too much to not enough and the right amount, depending on varying factors. I aim for 7-8 hours, usually I get a minimum of 6 although lately it's been closer to 9 or even 10 because of being sick and needing the rest. Then I'll turn around and jump into a short 6-7 hour night and then back to 8.

Erratic is definitely the word.

You shouldn't be getting less then 6 hours. Especially if you have to wake up early. Coffee helps keep you wake up though.

On days I work, I don't get near enough. My natural schedule is to stay up late and sleep in late, so it's a shock when I have to get up for early shifts. I often get only 4 hours or so on work days. I make up for it on days off, as I usually sleep for about 10-12 hours. Shift work/being a night owl has really messed me up.

I am a very light/restless sleeper for the most part, up and down throughout the night, it takes for nearly an hour just to fall sleep in the first place, and I never sleep in more then like half- hour maybe on my day off if that (pretty much a up with sun type) and once I am up I am up for the day, so, no I don't get enough sleep

but, lately my sleeping schedule has been thrown off, even more, a few weeks back I picked up an overnight shift at work for Thursday nights, but still kept my Friday after noon shift

usually over night is only suppose to be between 7:00P-2:00a, but, the last couple weeks (due to the holidays) I instead would start at midnight to 7-8:00a, then still come back to work noon-5:00P

now I'm not really the type that can sleep during the day (anything more then like a 15 min cat nap) so I don't sleep much before or after these shifts to make up for the lose

I try to get 8 hours on the weekend, and usually do, but I'm lucky to get 6 during the week.

If I have a work shift before 10am I get zero to 3 hours of sleep :( I am a night person and even when I rarely sleep at regular night hours, I don't feel as rested as when I stay up late and get up late. Example: 11pm to 7am sleep I feel less rested than 4am to 12pm sleep. ???????????????????????? weird lol

I've never quite understood that myself.

I think it may be because the 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM sleep is interrupted by an alarm, whereas the 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM sleep, I'm assuming, ends when you wake up voluntarily.

about 20 hours of sleep, 21 if I'm really tired

I used to have better sleeping habits, but lately it's been difficult for me to fall asleep. I'm trying to improve my diet and exercise more to reduce the symptoms of fibromyalgia, but a lot of nights I'm so sore that it's hard to fall asleep.
