I am curious if ratings start to suffer. I wonder if they would consider a jump in time...say 5yrs or more. Where you could see a college age Bruce getting more involved.

No.

I think they'll end it with Bruce departing for his training.

If ratings suffer, a change will be made. The Penguin can carry the show all by himself for a while if needed.

The best news for the show is many characters have established themselves, and the Joker who appears to be the son of a blind fortune teller and cirrus snake handing ****e has yet to come out! The actor who played the apparent Joker was scary good.

Other plots include:

The the bat cave was just discovered.

Jim Gordon has aligned himself with Don Falcone, the #1 bad guy out of necessity.

Wayne Enterprises has been introduced with tons of corporate villains.

I think the show will improve and become better. I remember back in the 1990s when Star Trek the Next Generation began. The first season was uneven, but by the end of it, they found their sea legs.

I think Gotham is similar. Now it knows where the chemistry is, and which actors can best ignite it.

Agreed. For the next 4 or 5 seasons at least. (provided the show lasts that long). But i think it would be wonderful for the show to meld into basically a live action version of the animated series. The foundations have been established....
