Those posts make him seem like a Dane Cook type. You can see him once or twice and think, "Hey, this guy's pretty funny." But then you keep seeing him and you realize he has exactly one schtick without much substance and it becomes really irritating.
When i saw him once or twice i never thought "Hey, this guys pretty funny", i thought "This guy is one annoying C**T"!!".

Yeah, yeah, I'm suitably embarrassed or whatever. I laughed the first couple times I saw Dane Cook. Sue me. :o

I laughed the first time I saw him on Comedy Central. I then laughed less and less every time I saw him after, mainly because he repeats half of his act.

No, you see Corden for the first time and think "well, he's annoying...I'll pop the kettle on for a spot of tea while he waffles on about stuff"

David Tennant Joins Fright Night Remake

http://www.sfx.co.uk/2010/06/09/david-tennant-joins-fright-night-remake/

Well, well, well… in the fantasy casting we’ve doing in the office about who should take on the role of Peter Vincent, the lat night horror TV host in the remake of Fright Night (a role memorably played by Roddy McDowall in the original) we never came up with David Tennant. And yet… what a brilliant, left-field choice.
Tennant joins Anton Yelchin as the teenager, Charlie, convinced that his new neighbour, played by Colin Farrell, is a vampire. Charlie turns to Peter Vincent for help, reckoning that his TV role must make him some kind of vampire expert. Toni (The Sixth Sense) Collette and Christopher (Kick Ass) Mintz-Plasse are also in what must be one of the most eclectic and intriguing movie casts for a long time.
The original 1985 film is a genuine cult classic, and the new version is being directed by United States Of Tara producer/director Craig Gillespie.
So, David Tennant in a vampire movie. That’s going to be a bonus when it comes to the next SFX vampire special…

I really dont understand the hate for Corden. The guy is genuinely funny. Go watch a couple episodes of A League Of There Own, and you'll see. I love love love Patrick Stewart, but I thought he came across as a d*** on the awards thing. His joke went flat, Corden countered, and Stewart almost seemed to not want to be upstaged. I didnt get it. I think Corden has the same sort of effect as Russel Brand actually. He acts smug and arrogant, but is actually a nice guy underneath it all. Just my two cents.

I don't really understand the backlash Brand gets here in the States. Then again, I don't watch the MTV Awards, and that seems to be where most of this hatred comes from.

I don't watch awards shows in general. Seems like that's a great way to not develop deep and abiding hatred for celebrities...

Except he is funny. He's one of only 2 people who write Gavin & Stacey (which I think is a funny show), and his character is amusing. You're just so over-exposed to that man that you hate him.

It's like how I feel about Will Ferrell.

I think of it like this: I love Jennifer Coolidge. I think she's hilarious whenever she pops up in a Christopher Guest movie. However, if she had her own sitcom, a brief sketch comedy show, and she appeared on every award show and talk show in the country at least once every month, I'd probably hate her for being everywhere, and her short-comings as a comedienne would be highlighted purely by my vitriol for her career.

I used to love Jennifer Coolidge, then 'Joey' happened.:cmad:

Joey made everything bad. Even the character Joey was bad on that show, and people loved him on Friends.

The thing with Brand is he just isn't funny. He does stand up comedy, to be a stand up comic you have to be funny, which he is not. He's not funny on pannel shows, he's just not funny when ever he's trying to be funny.

He fails at his main career.

The only thing I've seen of Brand is a special on Comedy Central. He was sorta funny there, but nothing to write home about (not unlike 90% of the comedians that get Comedy Central specials). I guess I don't feel strongly about him either way.

If someone was to ask me about "that British comedian named Russell," my mind would immediately turn to Howard.

For a while Brand was the "big thing" while other better comedians zipped by almost unnoticed. The public turned on him when they realised what a terrible dick he is around the time he left phone messages on an elderly man's voice mail.

But yeh, my main issue with both Brand and Corden is pretty much both suck at being funny and other people who are brilliantly histerical barely get a mention. I be we wouldn't even be having this conversation if David Mitchell was playing Cordens character...

If you think Corden is funny, watch "The Horne and Corden Show". It's like AID's, but for the eyes...

This is true. His main joke seems to be "Look at me! I've shagged someone!!!", which gets old quite quickly...

Again, this is true.

And Mitchell needs to be in Doctor Who. Imagine him as Davros. :awesome:

If David Mitchell was to appear on Doctor Who, I'd have to change my pants out of sheer excitement. Give the man an angry rant, and it'd be the best episode ever.

Add me to the 'I Hate James Corden' club.

Also, add a whole load of football fans now. They're angry at his World Cup anthem which basically portrays them all as hooligans.

Okay, now he's starting to sound like Rosanne Barr.

EPISODE 13 official synopsis

http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/proginfo/tv/2010/wk26/sat.shtml#sat_doctorwho

The Doctor is gone, the Tardis has been destroyed, and the universe is collapsing. The only hope for all reality is a little girl who still believes in stars, as this series of Doctor Who concludes with an episode written by Steven Moffat.
The Doctor is played by Matt Smith and Amy Pond by Karen Gillan.
Doctor Who is simulcast on the BBC HD channel – the BBC's High Definition channel, available through Freesat 108, Freeview 50, Sky 143 and Virgin 108.

We're not allowed to use a certain word that beings with c and describes a very lovely part of a female's anatomy, but if you think of that word and prefix it with "fat", then I think that describes Corden fully and frankly.

Warning, big spoilers for episode 12. :p

Who the hell is Rosanne Barr?

Roseanne Barr (then Roseanne Arnold, then just Roseanne) is a comedienne who had a TV show during the late 80's through 90's called (wait for it...) Roseanne. It was praised for being one of the more realistic depictions of a working class American family in a sitcom.

Thing is, Roseanne herself was criticized for being a fat, disgusting C-word with an annoying voice who wasn't remotely as funny as she thought she was. One day she was asked to sing the American national anthem at a sporting event, which she totally butchered (likely on purpose).

I'm trying to write something about Doctor Who, but since Rosanne has been mentioned, I'll just say this:

I'd rather watch all of Horne & Corden than a single episode of Mitchell & Webb. There, I said it. They are, in my opinion of course, the smuggest, most arrogant ***** on telly. They strike me as unfunny self-righteous ****holes who have miraculously found a cult following. Eurgh, I'm getting nauseous just thinking about them. But you know, fair enough, if you dont like someone or have a particular preference in comedy, I'm quite OK with that. Perhaps I'm in a tiny majority in hating those two, but thats fine.

(Rant Over)

I sort of agree. David Mitchell is like the Guardian newspaper personified; smug, opinionated, patronising; but generally misinformed, stuffy, ignorant and wrong.
