It doesn't bother me much, but I can't deny that they could have been a little more creative with the title.

Just based on the movie, premise-wise, I want the title as simple and clean as possible, so I'm not bothered by it. If it was anything else, I'd want it to be like... Halloween Night or something.

In terms of continuity its Halloween 2, but that might have confused some people. Since it's been 40 years since the original I think it's fine that they decided to just call it Halloween. And since this will no doubt probably act as a spring board for future Halloween films it makes since to simply call it Halloween. Add numbers or subtitles to the sequels to this film, but keep this film's title nice and simple and clean.
