He's joking, obviously, but he said it in such a deadpan and trolly way, that if you take him at face value makes him seem unprofessional.

-The studio is paying for the place in which he's living in.
-The studio is sending him food.
-The studio is paying for his trainer.
-His trainer even though it's more difficult for him still is out there trying to help him.
-His co star Zoe is busting her ass off training.
-Previous Batman Christian Bale worked his ass off on his physique even though he was borderline skeleton prior to Batman Begins.
-Ben Affleck worked his ass off even though he was an alcoholic going through tough times.

If you take him at face value, for him to not train out of laziness and some particular self righteous idea he has about Hollywood, makes him look like a dick.
