Dr. Gordon Returns to Saw 7

Saw it. No pun intended.

Where do i begin? We've seen this all before. And better, might I add. It's the same thing over and over again. Very thin plot. Jigsaw is seen once, his wifey dies in the end, Hoffman is left to rot in the same bathroom from the first film, and Dr.Gordon (who I didn't even recognize because he's gained so much weight - is revealed to be the doctor who was inserting all of the objects in the victims since the 2nd film. He basically has to put Hoffman out of his misery because the Hoff was no longer playing the game to serve Jigsaw's purpose. All in all the 3D was OK.....but this film was pointless and not needed. The story wrapped quite nicely with the 3rd one and should have stayed that way. This film was all about the gore. I'd like more story and character development please!

Regardless of what people say I am still seeing this opening night. One of the regrets is not seeing the first Saw film in a theatre with an audience just for the ending alone.

Ever since I missed that I made a promise to see every Saw film and I have done that. I have all of the films on DVD and this will be no different when it's released.

I'm stoked honestly. :yay:

What did Hoffman do to screw up the game? I might as well ask since I caved in by seeing the leaked final moments of the movie.

I really should hate it, but all these Saw movies are such guilty pleasures that I can't help it. I liked it. I had several problems.

Did Jill really need to die? How did Bobby's game play into the main story? Who were the other Pig mask people with Dr. Gordon? Couldn't Hoffman easily have escaped the bathroom? A little disappointed that Jigsaw only had one scene in the movie. So many issues.

I did like Bugboy's death, though. That was pretty awesome.

Its interesting that they left it open for another movie, but I'm glad they're done for now.

Overall, I liked it for what it was. I mostly went tonight to get the special 3D glasses, which I got three of. Working at the theater definitely has its benefits.

And really........

How the hell does Hoffman get stabbed TWICE in the neck and not bleed or die??? COME ON!!!!! >:(

so is gordon really the mastermind then behind everything and higher up then jigsaw? why would he help jigsaw? is that much explained or do they just say gordon helps him so. im curious because Im not going to rush out and see this.

Wow, I ruined it for myself....but at same time...

Glad that Gordon is revealed to be working with or for Jigsaw.

I'll see this tomorrow afternoon. Get a coke...probably get scared from gore...just hope it's okay.

MAJOR SPOILERS DO NOT CLICK IF U DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED. U HAVE BEEN WARNED.

No Gordon wasn't the mastermind. He was working for Jigsaw from what I remember from last night Gordon found the victims for Jigsaw we also saw him performing some of the traps. Like it showed him sewing up that one guys eyes at one point. Gordon got involved against Hoffman because he killed Jill. He Recieved a tape from Jigsaw that said if anything happend to Jill take quick action

So do you think this will be the final one or will they jump the shark and have another secret person take over the Jigsaw persona?

While I'm not the person you're talking to, if SAW 7 makes money. Then yes. It will be back. Just like all the other "Last" films that made money and then kept going, Friday the 13th the final chapter, The Final Destanation.

Horror films never truely die. Only the co-eds starring in them.

Last film my ass. It's left just as open as all the rest of them. I'm sorry but I did not enjoy this series at all after part 3. And what makes this film the "last" film? Nothing. As far as legacy or story goes, there's really nothing to wrap up except kill Jigsaw's wife and introduce Gordon as one of Jigsaw's hidden pupils. But that's not really tieing anything up! Like I said, last film my ass.

no offense im not bashing you im bashing the writers here on this one. but why would gordon help jigsaw all the sudden? unless the bathroom in the first one was his way of testing gordon to see if he would truly join him. nothing from this movie makes a lick of sense besides hoffman and jill going after each other. the whole gordon thing seems to be shoe horned in and really creates a plothole when you think about the first movie.

i havent seen these in the theater since 3 but i was going to go tonight to see saw 3d but after reading this stuff i think i will use my money to go buy a horror bluray. the ending i keep hearing sounds ******ed and seems to create the biggest plothole I have ever heard. why cant these movies just end, it seems like a constant cirlce and we the audience just keep going round and round.

I just think it's time to retire this franchise. I think it's almost surpassed the Friday and Nightmare on Elm Street sequels, not including the remakes or Freddy VS Jason.

I'm just surprised people aren't bored of this yet. I don't see how it's that entertaining(other than the ones who just watch it for the gore and traps)when they have clearly jumped the shark after the original Jigsaw died.

I'll leave now so I don't start a **** storm.

The Saw movies have way more going for them than alot of the Elm Street and Friday the 13th sequels. And I'm not just saying that cause of the blood and gore.

In what way?

After reading a few reviews on this new one it basically told me what I was pretty sure of. That the writers are pulling things out of their asses to keep this franchise alive.

I really liked the first film and the second and third were alright but I stopped watching at that point since the main villian died. I'm not trying to rag on fans of the series but I'm surprised they've come up with material to keep things going.

Well to me the acting is way better, and so is the character development and the main characters.

Yea but how many times have Jason and Freddy been killed only to return in the next movie? At least The Saw Franchise have a decent/ somewhat interesting story to go along with the blood and gore. Freddy and Jason have like the same paper thin story over and over again. Sure the Saw storyline is starting to get weak but they still aren't as bad as movies like My Soul To Take in 3D.

I also don't care or like the Freddy or Jason or Myers sequels. I wasn't really saying they're better than the Saw sequels. I was basically saying that the Saw series is in line with those in regards to milking it and because of that their not good films, not even good horror films.

Sometimes I want to break down and watch part IV on up to VII just to see what is keeping people hooked on this series. Hopefully Netflix will stream some of them in the future.

It's the same deal with action flicks. Same concept just re packaged over and over again. Expendables for example was okay nothing spectacular.

The only difference with Saw is that it's one continual story . It just doesn't have an ending and this might be successful enough to make a part 8

I returned from seeing it and am quite disappointed. I didn't completely hate it, but so far it's one of my least favorite Saws. Not as much as Saw III, but still low on my list.

Jigsaw was WAY underused. Seriously, he's in this? I think he had more screentime in the first Saw than this.

Too trap-oriented and not enough story. Saw VI, trap-focused as it was, at least had a strong plot that went hand in hand with the traps and expanded the backstory. This did practically none of that. It was mainly traps and gore. Easily the most gore-driven Saw of all.

Speaking of traps, too many overly complex and elaborate ones. I longed for more simplistic Saw and Saw II-style traps.

No Amanda at all, not counting extremely brief Saw II footage used near the end. No Amanda was expected but still a letdown.

Jill dying was garbage and especially the way she did. Seriously, the Jaw Splitter? She didn't deserve that.

Gordon was extremely predictable and not only that, completely underused. Cary's role here was obviously just to pull in viewers after Saw VI underperformed.

Not all was bad. Costas and Betsy were both good as always, Dagen was a cool (if underused) character, Charlie Clouser's score was great as always and I enjoyed some of the traps with the car one being my favorite. And the movie wasn't boring either, but at the same time not thrilling. I felt in the first hour or so it was good but it completely deteriorated in the last third for me.

On a scale of 0-10, this gets maybe a 5/10 from me.

Saw II
Saw
Saw VI
Saw V
Saw IV
Saw VII
Saw III
