Dune 3 casts Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke as key Atreides family members

Per Deadline's reporting, Nakoa-Wolf Momoa (yes, son of Jason) and Ida Brooke (Silo) have joined the cast of Dune 3, and are set to play two very important figures in the Duniverse: Paul Atreides' twin children.

The Momoa family going all in on this franchise.

The twins look terrific, believable as Paul(Chaletmet) & Chani(Zendaya) kids, though unless it's a flash forward or a prescience "vision" of the future, there is a surprising time jump forward for Dune Messiah, where I believe they were for the most, still infants? To Children of Dune.
Not sure how big a role these two will play, or if they are being used as somewhat visual stand-ins for what is to come?
Besides Paul's "visions" of the future, how far are they dipping into the actual Children of Dune?
By their age, does whoever directs the inevitable Children of Dune, already have their lead cast too.?

The thing is Momoa Jr has zero acting credits so I don't know if he's lead actor material yet.

I can't imagine Denis would have cast him if he couldn't do it.

Maybe he can but it wouldn't be the first time a great director makes an unfortunate casting choice. And I'm not saying it is (as of now) or that I don't trust Denis, but it's not unfathomable how an actor with zero acting credits doesn't yet instill me with huge confidence for a main role. Which makes me think he probably won't have one after all, but we'll see.

Yeah, they should be infants during this story, unless they are combining parts of the next two books or using flash-forwards again. I wouldn't be surprised if the movie ends up merging some parts of Messiah, Children and a bit more of the Jihad.

I wonder if they are going to do a reverse “Godfather: Part II”, where some of the story is the children doing whatever they’re doing in the present, and most of stuff in the past is all of Dune Messiah material and it goes back-and-forth between the two at certain points throughout the film.

I googled and saw that Dune Messiah is a much shorter book than the first Dune book, and that took two films to adapt, so I imagine that it would be necessary and feasible to add more material to the film adaptation and still tell it within about the same or a slightly longer timeframe as Dune: Part II.

There's less big-budget movie material, though. Even the miniseries speedruns Messiah in 85 minutes.

That's a good way to show scenes from the Jihad without having to cover the entire thing. Villeneuve also said:

"(...) in Messiah, there are the seeds in the project if someone wants to do something else afterward."

Alia is a likely candidate for the female voice-over that kicks off this movie. Plus, I'd expect them to include a line about how the spice is slowing their aging.
