Dwayne Johnson to enlist in SEAL Team 666

...is whisked away to join four SEALs and their dog..

The Scooby gang joined the military?

:lmao:

Good one, I don't know if I would have gotten there on my own.

This sounds like an unholy combination of Scooby Doo, Aliens and Megaforce. Which means I will buy my ticket for opening day.

Can you honestly tell me you don't want to see a bunch of Navy Seals gunning down demonic forces? If so, just ban yourself from this forum right now.

If it's even half as awesome as British soldiers fighting Werewolves in Dog Soldiers, or Mercenaries fighting Nazi Zombies in Outpost, then it will be very awesome indeed. I really enjoy DJ as an actor (he's actually turned into a decent actor, not just an action star) so I'll see this.

I bet the dog is actually a werewolf.

And I demand a tortuous sequence where Dwayne is given a tour of Team 666 headquarters where he gets to watch how they train with a bunch of weird technology.

Why am I already imagining the movie with Dwayne playing Luke Hobbs?

This does sound like it can be great (Men In Black, Hellboy) or lackluster and disappointing (R.I.P.D.) so it's a toss up at this point for me.

Depends on the tone. If they go light-hearted, could bomb like RIPD. But if they take it too seriously, could bomb like Cowboys vs Aliens.

Let's go middle of the road, so it only bombs like Doom.

I just don't have a good feeling about this.

It takes real skill AND LOVE to create something like Hellboy or Ghostbusters, so they'll need the right people.

Or it could succeed, like MIB or Hellboy. There's always that possibility.

I don't know. There's so many movies that are endlessly disposable that I would like to see a pop movie that leaves some sort of legacy. They means quality.

I can't get over how hilarious the title is. The movie is probably going to suck but I love Dwayne Johnson so I'll watch it.

Another movie that I must watch.

Even if it's goofy fun like Dredd then I'm down. But there's too many generic crap out there that I just have a feeling this will be forgotten as soon as it hits theaters.

This title is glorious and you can tell it made up most of the whole pitch.

Well it was surprisingly well received, has a decent sized cult following and has it's own charms, that Dredd.

$20 that this is worse than IFrankenstein

The Rock's presence alone guarantees you'd be out a 20.

I'm picturing Johnson with his intestines hanging out rage killing a swarm of demons.

I guess it's another case of movies coming in pairs, because there's another movie about a military unit battling ghosts/demons/whatever in development alongside this one, and I wouldn't be surprised if the two are released within months of each other.

The other is called 'Spectral' or something like that.

Hopefully at least one will be decent, preferably this one.
