Dwayne Johnson to go on a Rampage

So the Rock opened up (sort of) about his feud with Vin Diesel in the F&F movies and said they filmed NONE of their scenes together. I really want to know what the hell went down between these two.

Egos probably. Also I suspect Vin is a little jelly of how much he Rock has blown up compared to him.

Some nice reviews so far, good to see.

Between Tomb Raider, Ready Player One and so far Rampage, is the video game movie curse finally lifted?

You can't place movies about videos games in the same category as movies based on video games. Tomb Raider hardly broke the curse either.

Yeah, you're probably right. That's Vin's own fault though, honestly. He was poised to be the next big action star back in the early aughts, but he shrugged off sequels to F&F and XXX because he thought he could do more serious drama films. And while I can certainly understand not wanting to be typecast and pursuing your artistic endeavors, sometimes you also have to know your limitations. As much as I like Vin, he's not very versatile.

Will the box office for FF9 be affected if The Rock doesn't come back?

I think he's been helpful, but at this point, I don't think his presence makes or breaks it.

2 indies made all the difference?
He did The Pacifier, wore a wig for a comedy, and did some scifi schlock that wasn't Riddick.

I didnt say Tomb Raider broke the curse on its own, I said that along with RPO and Rampage would. But I get your point about RPO.

I thought Tomb Raider was a step in the right direction though personally.

All I heard from other audience members while watching #Rampage last night was “this is f—— awesome.” It’s ridiculous and entertaining and @JDMorgan’s character is so much fun to watch. @TheRock #RampageMovie

I guess the social media embargo is up, so #RampageTheMovie is amazingly the second "pretty darn good" video game adaptation in under a month, from the same studio no less. It's an old-fashioned "big movie" that successfully blends the video game into a coherent narrative.

So excited to see Rampage next week! Now I really want to play the game!!

I'm devastated. The Australian premier got cancelled. Going to see this on Thursday.

Trying to find early Tix but it's selling out fast.

Rock confirmed
George doesn’t die in the movie. Originally studio wanted him to but Rock doesn’t like depressing endings to his movies

strange when I was seeing Tomb Raider with a friend today the trailer they showed said it comes out this friday not next has the date been changed?

I agree with The Rock on this. Depressing endings suck.

Yeah, they moved it up one week so as to give it breathing room.

cool I can see this this week and super troopers 2 next week and avengers IW next week

That is a good spoiler. Rock is right on that. It also kind of sidesteps a common trope in these kinds of movies too.

The one where the "monster" in this case being George, is not killed. Whether Lizzie and the others live though...

They really should just get mutated back to their normal states like the games, but I guess after probably murdering a bunch of people can they be sympathetic? lol
