Dwayne Johnson to go on a Rampage

Johnson knows what his bread and butter is and it isn't doing serious dramatic roles which is perfectly fine. He's great at what he does and while his characters are sometimes not the brightest, he doesn't play a simple minded musclehead either. And he is most definitely smarter than people give him credit for.

I'm planning on watching this with the mindset I watch the classic Ray Harryhausen-monster movies like The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms, 20 Million Miles To Earth, and The Valley of Gwangi, for I feel that is what the potential charm a concept such as Rampage has the highest to adhere to.

TBH was anyone expecting great reviews, this is by the same team as San Andreas. As long as it has monsters fighting and silly stunts then it should be a crowd pleaser. Critics didn't like The Hitman's Bodyguard and that did good business because it's delivered on its promise.

I enjoyed it more. Slightly slows down in the middle of the movie but the climax was climatic and ultra satisfying.

Saw this movie yesterday, so apologies for not posting today to warn off anyone who saw it tonight.

This movie isn't bad, per se, but it is very bland and studio blockbuster boilerplate. And as I was lucky enough to avoid Pacific Rim 2, that means I'm comparing it two really good blockbusters like Ready Player One and Black Panther. Hell, I realized in another thread Jumanji is heads and tails far superior due to its charm factor.

Rampage has some things going for it. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is fun, the final end fight is fun, and the motion-capture work (more so than the CGI) is impressive. But there is a whole lot of waiting around until it gets to the, ahem, rampage. Everyone else in the movie too though, besides strangely George, is pretty flat. Even Dwayne Johnson's million-watts smile which made San Andreas unintrusively pleasant for the 90 minutes it was on seemed not enough here.

As a businessman and professional he is very smart. He seems relatively unpretentious. He has a huge ego, no doubt, but also is humble enough to know his limitations and doesn't pretend he isn't an entertainer. What he does he's very good at. Jumanji landed tenfold for me, it's just this one, mostly on the script level, didn't come together. The "rampage" is actually very well shot. It just takes a LONG time to get there.

True!! He was a nicer version of Negan... I honestly liked this movie!! I really like this movie!! It was a high octane, feel good movie!! The battle between the Ape and the Croc was absolutely outstanding !! And surprisingly brutal!! It was just a pure escapism action movie that was action packed and fun!! I give it 8.5 out of 10!!

True!! He was a nicer version of Negan... I honestly liked this movie!! I really like this movie!! It was a high octane, feel good movie!! The battle between the Ape and the Croc was absolutely outstanding !! And surprisingly brutal!! It was just a pure escapism action movie that was action packed and fun!! I give it 8.5 out of 10!!

I really like the chemistry/relationship between George, the white albino gorilla and Davis.

It is interesting they use sign languages to communicate and it is very funny how Geogre

I thought it was very touching when George

There are some really awesome action sequences that I really enjoy such as George

breaking out of his cage in the beginning and running out of the zoo. George going crazy inside the airplane,causing the plane to crash. And the wolf and the gorilla wrecking chaos and damage in the city.

Regarding the wolf,

, it can fly in the final action scene in Chicago and it can throw spikes from its body. I like how the wolf jump into mid-air, grabbing the helicopter and causing it to crash.

Even though the alligator only

appears towards the end of the movie, it has some of the best fight scenes. The alligator is so tough and powerful that it kills the wolf during the battle scene between the two animals. Davis trys to throw explosive bag inside the alligator's stomach but it still doesn't die. Even when Davis use the army tank and fire missles at the alligator, the alligator just won't die. And the final scene, when George impale the alligator's eye with the metal pole, and then the alligator finally dies.....

And regarding the villains

I think they were great. It was very satisfying to see Claire being grabbed by George before the gorilla eat her up. And her brother Brett running all the way downstairs to the building, he thought that he was safe but once he stepped out of the building, he got killed by a falling object.

are inside the helicopter without a tail, and they try to escape by causing the tailess helicopter to crash.
