Dwayne Johnson to go on a Rampage

^ Not even flinching at that revelation. :o

Attending my 7th screening later today.

If you love total destruction, you're going to enjoy this movie. I think the movie worked better with them as giant mutated animals instead of being in humanoid form. Seeing The Rock use sign language with George was pretty cool.

My main complaint was
Joe Manganiello
not getting enough screen time.

Shout out to Kid Cudi for sampling The Smashing Pumpkins at the end.

This movie is very, very stupid. I also think it may have been written by Lotso Cliches. I am not asking for fine art with a movie like this, but did the script have to be so copy/paste?

Ugh, what, they got a rapper to defile "Bullet With Butterfly Wings?" :(

Oh totally. Generic Evil Corpration led by Generic Evil CEO, Generic Expert Scientist Who conveniently also functions as Attractive Female Sidekick

I liked it. Good effects, well staged action scenes. Could have done without the biology mumbo jumbo.

Well, I coudn't stand this. The monster battles are entertaining but the human characters are atrocious and the plot is a paper-thin collection of clichés. I guess it's better than Uprising, if that's any consolation, but I'm still waiting for a competent "fun" Kaiju adventure like the first Pacific Rim.

I'm not sure what are expecting from this, I don't think it was made to stand up against Lawrence of Arabia as a character driven piece.

Obviously I was not expecting that. But, I would like to have seen it be more creative.

The villains were so unnecessary and brought the movie down.

It's like they based the human characters in this off of the characters in the Transformers movies, specifically the ones with Wahlberg in them. Pretty much just living cartoon characters.

It was fun/good for what it is. Could've been better and yeah, some clichés and by God the villains were pretty bad but still.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan stole the show for me

Sucks that I was so busy last weekend to watch this. Been waiting a long time for this, I was playing the original arcade port on my Xbox the other day.

This weekend though, hopefully I get to see it.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan was very fun in this film. I enjoyed nice guy Negan.

It's a The Rock movie, guys. You're wanting characters?

Seems a weird complaint. This was obviously going to be San Andreas With Monsters from the start. Dumb, breezy fun.

Eh, just cause it's a Rock movie nothing wrong with wanting some better writing and characters.

But just for example, I thought Morgan's character Agent Russell was good. They sort of subverted the whole uptight military conflict with the hero trope. It was a refreshing change of pace. But the brother and sister bad guys were lacking.
