E3 2009

Paul and Ringo stopping by would have been cool if they acted like they wanted to be there lol. I actually think it worked against the conference. They mumbled a bit, said, "Thanks for letting us be on your...gameshow. Guess they want us to talk amongst ourselves. Oh, buy our game!", and then walked off.

This...is true.

But if you mute it...it's almost cool. Almost.

The COD live demo looked great though.

Sony knows how to market their stuff....helps when you have the film/tv division helping you with the press conference....they could put a turd, literally a turd, out there and market it to make people think its awsesome

Well, Sony has 7 or 8 games that have been confirmed as being playable at the show, so they could potentially match that if they take advantage of that at the conference

True.

And with a few suprises, they could steal the show from Microsoft.

I am confused as to why Nintendo didn't go with more live demos. I thought Microsoft showed at last year's E3 that live demos can whet gamers appetite.

Trailers are nice, but watching games in action for the first time...is something.

This is the first E3 after the stigma of the PS3's launch has fully worn off, too. That probably helps.

Mario Galaxy 2, New Super Mario Bros Wii, and Metriod M: Awesome

Where were you?:

Star Fox Wii: Why hasn't this been made yet?
Kid Icarus Wii: It's about time we get a new one.
Kirby Wii: Should have came out a long time ago for the Gamecube.

The Sony conference starts at 2 pm, I think.

2 pm est, that is. 12 pm pst.

My countdown clock at Gamespot says 17 minutes are left before it starts.

Part of the thing is...they're trying to sell us ****.

Half of the battle of selling us ****, is having good **** to sell. Which is why a live demo can be impressive, because we can get the "I need to play that!" feeling...ala Splinter Cell Conviction.

And the other half of selling us ****, is being a good salesman.

For example, I'd say Reggie is better at it...than the lady who seemed entirely too monotone to keep my attention.

Super Mario Galaxy 2
Team Ninja Metroid
Super Mario Bros 2-D Wii
Golden Sun
Mario & Luigi 3

I  Nintendo so very much right now.

Super Mario Galaxy was one of my favorite games of the last several years, and a sequel I was hoping for.

I love anything Metroid, and developed by Team Ninja...yes please. :D

kevin periera has got to have THE worst fashion sense ever.

Reggie should be doing the whole press conference, but he is the COO so doing that is probably beneath his station

I will probably cave this year and get a PS3 for Uncharted and God of War

I know.

But...what'd they say now?

They were saying how bad of a move it is that Sony was still focusing on the handheld market as much as they have just because Nintendo is still ahead. The PSP has been a decent success, and it's taken more of the market then any other handheld outside Nintendo's have. No one was expecting it to dominanate the market, they were just expecting to make good waves, and they have, despite what people seem to believe

I thought those were cool.

I'm just wondering if they could have been presented better. Or had a better lead. I thought Metroid had a great lead in.

I've been thinking of picking up a PS3 myself, but I'll wait until Heavy Rain and hope for another price drop in the meantime.

well Sony also expected the UMD to take off, as it relates to non game content, and that went the way of laserdisc

Yeah, but it's only one failure amongst a mostly successful product.

He's always dressed like a tool.

Might not be. I mean, he's pretty good at it and he's great at interviews after the show.

It's just alot of work though. Which, I can understand. But...give the man a large bonus and he'll take a month off afterwards.

They just want them to concede. Which isn't happening.

And they shouldn't.

who cares what he's dressed like?? it isn't about the meatbags talking....its about the games

Yeah but the talking heads can say such stupid things.

heh...meatbags.

they can say dumb things....I tend to give sessler a pass because sesslers soapbox is awesome
