E3 2010

I like the idea of factions, I just hope there's more than Sweettooth and Dollface factions.

There seems to be some confusion going around on the interwebs. Did Gabe say Portal 2 and Steam were coming to PS3 or just Portal 2?

Sony did not need two hours for this. This Conference sucked ass & it feels like Kevin Butler was there because they knew it sucked. But Twisted Metal looked bad ass

The motion control thing looked pretty cool for the golf game.
Other than that though, I can't see myself standing with a 3d glasses on holding, what looks like a pair vibrators. I think the thing about the wii is that's it's dirt cheap and doesn't need a (x price) thing bought to use it's motion controls.

Gabe said that Portal 2 would have Steam Cloud support, whatever that is, not that Steam is coming to the PS3.

They mentioned it & it was not even in their montage videos. Did it go multiplatform to the 360 or something ?
Its being made by Sony Online Entertainment. It will never got o the 360

I just found out Kevin Butler isnt real. Here's a character that Sony created and the guy that plays him is Jerry Lambart. Did everyone know this or am I just late. i thought he was really a PR person for Sony. I didnt know he was an actor playing a role

No Last Guardian? No Agent? :(

i was kinda bummed about that also, but there's always TGS. Portal 2 being on the PS3 was a pretty big reveal though and i'm really pumped about that.

Didn't know that either.

Microsoft got butt raped by Sony & Nintendo. I'm quite sad, Nintendo is doing REAL games again & Sony's doing REAL games while having motion control & 3D. I'll be getting a PS3 soon, won't be selling my Xbox though. :csad::csad::csad:

not to be smug, but i've known about him for roughly 2 months, hehe. it takes a little of the magic away, but he's still an awesome spokesperson for Sony.

Personally, I think it was a tie inbetween Sony and Nintendo this year. For me personally, Sony stole the show, but that's because it's content was more aimed towards the games I like to play. However Nintendo hit all of it's high notes outside of Mario in one show, and I recognize it probably won in most ppl's eyes on Zelda, Metroid, and the 3DS alone.

As for Sony's show itself personally I thought it was an A show. Not perfect by any means, but they showed plenty of content, and did what they needed to. They showed off motion control games that actually looked fun. Showed off new exclusive titles and content. Gave live demos of upcoming big games like Killzone and LBP. Talked about the premium service (which isn't a big deal to me, but I'm sure it is to quite a few ppl). Gave release dates, and price ranges. They were also humorous and not creepy (see little girl yelling skittles for 5 minutes). Then gave (IMO) the only real shocker of E3. Which would be Gabe Newell eating crow on a Sony stage....I mean in Twisted Metal :).

There were disappointing parts tho. No Last Guardian, or Team Ico collection talk. No DC Online or FFXIV release dates or beta info. No PSP 2. However I think the good points outshined what didn't make it into the show (plus TGS could always rectify those along with FFvsXIII).

As for what stood out, Twisted Metal easily. I've really, really been wanting another Twisted Metal, especially one in the same vein as Black, and we're getting it. Kevin Butler's speech was epic lol. Gabe showing up on a Sony show after all the crap he's spewed this entire gen made the show worth it by itself. Dead Space 2 gameplay was awesome. Also, Move finally selling me on the games. See, beforehand Move only had sold me on the hardware itself. The Engadget tech demos alone had me convinced to buy Move just based on what they were doing with it. Still tho there was a nagging feeling about it being tons of shovelware. This E3 showed it's not just shovelware + Socom, but an actual attempt to make somewhat more hardcore games with it, or make current hardcore games compatible with it.

So overall E3 in general is a win for me this year (I only watch the big 3). Microsoft dragged things down early on, but Nintendo and Sony raised it back up IMO.

Lol. How did u think that guy was real? No one that works for any if the big 3 would really be that awesome. U also know that that little black kid in the psp ads was an actor as well right?

Yea it really does. Im just interested in seeing Frontline tho. I loved that game when it released. But MoH itself, im not crazy about. Looks just like Modern Warfare.

It looks like it's in between Bad Company 2 and Modern Warfare 2, which means it's got about half as much brand distinction as either of them. It does not look very exciting to me at all, because I already own Bad Company 2 and Modern Warfare 2. I wish they could have done something with it to give it a better identity, but then again the military shooter genre is already over-saturated so that's not exactly an easy task.
