Honestly, if that's where 360 is heading. I might be packing my bags & becoming friends with Kratos & Drake.
MS's conference could've used some Valve.

Man, I love me some Centipede.
Also, I don't understand why people think this generation is so lame.
Of course, all that is rumor, but none of it would be surprising for tomorrow's conference.Don't be surprised if a new Sly Cooper collection, a new Patapon and a not-so-new Twisted Metal game are announced for the PlayStation 3 in the coming weeks. A retail source points to all three titles coming soon. Now, none of that may actually come as a surprise, as it appears that Sony is counting down to something Patapon related the week of E3.
And 1UP just posted (and pulled) images from the E3 2010 showfloor that indicated a Sly Cooper collection (in 3D!!!) will be available for the PlayStation 3.
That's all backed up by a retail source who tells us that The Sly Collection, Patapon 3 and Twisted Metal X will be coming to the PlayStation 3. On top of that a PSP version of PlayStation Move game EyePet is on the way, as is a PS3 version of PSP game Invizimals.
http://kotaku.com/5563293/this-is-basically-rez-for-the-playstation-moveÉric Chahi is famous for having single-handedly developed Another World, a 1991 platformer that was as gorgeous as it was atmospheric. This is his new game: Project Dust. It's clear that while technology has moved on in the years since Another World, Chahi's ability to create unique alien worlds is as fresh as ever. Dust looks to be a little bit Populous and a little bit Black & White, as you try and save a group of people from extinction by channelling old powers and shaping the surface of the world itself.
Dust will be out in 2011 as a downloadable title on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network.
Trailers for both of those titles seemed very interesting. I'll even say that Child of Eden is the first Move/Kinect that made me raise my eyebrow, looks very fun, plus I really loved Rez.Sega Rally creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi is probably most loved for his 2001 synaesthetic shooter, Rez. This is Child of Eden, which will be published by Ubisoft. Same guy, same game, just for the PlayStation Move and Kinect.
I'm not reaching with that statement. Gameplay looks identical, and even sounds identical (listen closely for Rez's targeting noises), only there's now a calming "planet earth" theme instead of frantic computer glitches.
When people who want more from their motion controls than party games complain, I imagine this is what they're ultimately pining for. Now if only any of us had TVs big enough for this trailer to look "real".
On top of that, seems theres another bit of news that could possibly be bad to some (and I guess a non-event to others lol).
http://dualshockers.com/2010/06/14/xbox-360-slim-propietary-hdd/
From what I'm gathering, it appears that the new model is getting a new propietary harddrive different from the older 360's. Meaning you can't simply swap harddrives from Xbox to Xbox. It also looks like the price of the new harddrives might actually be more expensive. Now it makes more sense why MS added USB stick compatibility finally.
The reason I say it could be bad is two part. First, current owners looking to get a new Slim to replace their current one can't simply swap harddrives if they wanted. Second, because of how MS is discontinuing the old 360's and phasing them out. If they ever eventually decide they want to completely discontinue all peripherals that don't work for the new 360 and only work for the old 360's (like said harddrive), or decide they only want to make new harddrives for the newer 360, it means older owners may not see options later on from MS to upgrade their harddrives. Since 360 harddrives are made by MS and not compatible with other HD's like Sony using laptop HD's.
A question you may be asking yourself: If I upgrade to an Xbox 360 Slim, how do I transfer the data on my current Xbox to the new one? It was revealed to us at Microsoft's Xbox 360 Slim unwrapping event that the new console will support the current data transfer cable (originally made for the Xbox 360 Elite). We also learned that the cables will be available at retail for $19.99 -- a very good thing considering how hard the cables are to find these days. The cables should be available when the new consoles hit the shelves (which should be any day now).
I'm still too attached to my Mass Effect to abandon my 360 at the moment but so far this E3 has majorly bored me.

Like in the 2 morning if you live in Sydney
Depending on how Sony's conference goes, that might change...

It's entirely possible that Mass Effect will never come to PS3, but seeing as I can't afford to buy another console for just one game series, I think I'll hold out.
