E3 2015

Also no Zelda and nothing beyond 2015. It makes you wonder what exactly they will have.

Well, as I mentioned in an earlier post in this thread and elsewhere, I really don't think they'll be literally nothing past 2015. Think of last year. The focus was clearly on 2014 titles, but we still had mentions and trailers for stuff like Starfox, Zelda, Puzzle & Dragons, and Splatoon. While I know they had that tweet, I expect they weren't being totally literal. I think it'll be the same, at the very least I would expect new info about the Fire Emblem games, one confirmed to be 2016 outside Japan, and the other very likely to be.

But honestly, I'm not super concerned about it. There's some titles from Nintendo I'm looking forward to this year they could show, and I remember many where skeptic of their show last year (including myself), but they delivered pretty well.

Joke? I mean, they haven't done a stage presentation since 2011 (I think?), but they're still set up there and all the digital stuff is still streamed from the E3 floor as far as I know.

Which is why they don't feel like they have an actual presence. I do enjoy the Direct show, they usually have the best content, but it does not feel like E3.

Yeah, but...they're still there?
As someone who doesn't actually go to E3, it doesn't feel like it at all. The stage shows are E3 for those that don't actually go. At least for me. Imagine if WB or Marvel did their Comic-Con presentation in that manner.

Well, 99% of companies that go to E3 won't have stage shows, and never had them. I guess I kind of know what you mean, but by this thought, only Sony, Microsoft, EA and Ubisoft have been at E3 the last 4-5 years.

99% of companies don't produce consoles. I get the EA and Ubisoft shows, but they are pretty peripheral for me. You get their announcements with Sony and Microsoft anyways. The big 3 and their shows are what get my attention. So the last few years it has been all about Sony and Microsoft for me.

Well if you only have interest in first party games, I guess I see what you mean. I generally have interest in third parties as well, so I guess the lack of stage presentations on their part has never really mattered to me.

I definitely care about third parties and check out all the coverage at the shows. But the vast majority of relevant material shows up in the big 3 presentations. That is why they are a big deal. They don't go in depth with it all, but they show you basically all what is coming. The indie montage they show are a great example. They catch my attention every year.

Well, can't say I really agree, but I see what you mean. I personally kind of think the format Nintendo took last year is actually superior in a number of ways than just doing a broad presentation, but different opinions and all that.

I think Nintendo's Direct presentation is fantastic. Easily the best format. It just doesn't feel like E3 to me. I don't get the same kind of rush. The other presentations such for many reasons. Horribly long presentations, stuff that falls flat, bad work by the the crews running the cameras, etc. But when you get those moments when everything works with the crowd, it is a bit surreal. That is E3 for me.

Wait a minute...there was something else here before. I can sense it.

[blackout]I actually just saw it, though I don't know what it was[/blackout]
I made my Tomorrowland post in the wrong thread. :funny:

Talking about Nintendo plans for E3, NOA just tweeted this:

I'll take another one. The Wii version is one of my favorite games of all time. :atp:

We know Next Level is working on something. I've been hoping it was Punch U Out.

Lol, just found this on NeoGAF, damn those guys are creative: 33 Days until E3 everybody.

Yep, and directly after the Treehouse segments will begin and run through the conference just like last year. Best E3 format by far to me.

MS hasn't announced their press conference schedule yet?
