Synopsis:

IT ALL COMES BACK AROUND - As Ryan Wilder's (Javicia Leslie) Kryptonite wound grows more severe, it hinders Batwoman's ability to protect Gotham. Growing interest in reproducing the serum from the Desert Rose puts Mary's (Nicole Kang) and Commander Kane's (Dougray Scott) lives in danger. Meanwhile, Alice's (Rachel Skarsten) reunion with a fellow Coryana inhabitant presents unexpected complications. Also starring Meagan Tandy and Camrus Johnson. Directed by Holly Dale; written by Caroline Dries and Daphne Miles.

Not specific to this episode, but…

It’s looking like several plot threads will converge on Coryana. Specifically: Alice wants to get there in order to kill Kate (Safiyah is allegedly holding Kate captive). Meanwhile, Luke and Mary — who want to save Kate — will also/eventually have to seek out Coryana. (Additionally, Coryana is the source of Desert Rose — which is, apparently, the only cure for Ryan’s poisoning.)

IOW, a fair bit of plot attention for season two is being paid to Kate’s mysterious fate.

Except… will this mystery ever be resolved? Would Ruby Rose be invited/willing to return for even a farewell cameo? OTOH, Dries is sensitive to the “bury your gays” trope and has promised that Kate Kane would never be killed off. But if she isn’t found — either alive or dead — where’s the resolution?

Traditionally, a “MacGuffin” ends up being irrelevant because it serves a bigger or better plot goal. But in this case, Kate can’t be a MacGuffin; her fate can’t be irrelevant.

Mary was *this* close to revealing to her dad that she knows who Batwoman is.

In typical CW fashion, they spent way too much time on Ryan hiding the wound but at least that's now in the open.

Mmm, not sure about that.

In any case, Jacob already knew (ep. 02/01) that Kate was BW 1.0. And so far, he doesn’t seem especially invested in the identity of 2.0.

Awful, honestly the last 3 episodes have been absolutely terrible. This show needs to move on from Kate Kane and many of the the cast members who have stayed on with Ruby leaving as they no longer feel connected imo. This shows getting a few more episodes and if it doesn’t pick up I’m dropping it.
