Ethan Hawke Joins Daybreakers

I liked the world they created, but the story itself was a bit bland. I also hated some of the actors, the little brother Willie drove me up the wall. The car chase was also pretty average.

Also I picked the twist
(what happened to little brother when he bit Dafoe)
the second it happened, and then the build up they had, intercutting between Dafoe lazing on the couch philosophising and Hawke walking through the building, was embarassingly bad.

just came back from watching this flick

pretty good movie i thought

loved the setting and Willem Dafoe was badass. definately the best character in the film

the ending wasn.t bad, but it i felt there was no real closure. i could definately see a potential seque

Just saw this movie yesterday and I liked it. I'm glad they brought back the old school vampires. I liked the idea of vampires turning into humanoid bats from a lack of blood. I also like that they exploded when struck with silver.

The vampire world that they built was unique with bats flying around instead of birds.

In the opening credits it was explained in the title of a news paper article that the Vampire epidemic was started by a single Bat. I wish they could've went more into that subject.

This is what the I Am Legend movie should've been like. But still apocalyptic.

My other problem was the film was too small. They should've expanded on the world they created.

Well the movie only cost 20 million to make. So they had to make do. Hopely if they do a sequel they will expand the world they created more!

Saw this last week, I liked it, it had some jumpy moments and the starving vampires were creepy as hell, it set up its world well and had an okay story. Hawke and Defoe were good in their roles also.

As others have said the ending was a bit sudden, and didnt really close anything, not sure were they could go in a sequel also.

I saw it a couple of weeks ago. I think it is a huge waste of potential. The setting is great, and the premise has much promise. It really fails in terms of execution though. The characters aren't too bright, and the ending was a bore to me. The cure didn't really wow me at all, nor did it make much sense to me. I understood it perfectly, but it came across as overcomplicated for the sake of depth. I really wanted to like the movie, but it became too much of a drag.

The cure didn't make any sense. First it was the sun. Then Ethan somehow injected himself with something that gets in the blood and cures any vampire that consumes it?!? It's no wonder I don't go to the movies anymore.

^Ethan Hawke didnt inject himself with anything, the cure was the blood itself from someone who used to be a vampire, thats how his brother was cured from biting Defoe and how all the guys at the end were cured.

Yeah, the actual cure itself was being in controlled sunlight, so to speak. a side effect of the cure is that if a vampire feeds on a cured vampire, they're cured.

^Yep, I wonder if they will do a sequel, not really sure were they could go with it but I would go and see it.
