Exploring your home country

Reading some of these post I realize the one place I actually haven't been is Canada...lol. I just never made it there in my travels. I guess that should go on the list.

Visit Vancouver or Montreal. I like Toronto, but I never understood why tourists even come here. :hehe:

I don't want to offend, but I am not that familiar with the country. There are no particular places or sights that I want to see. Traveling is expense, so I have to want to go there. What are some popular tourist sights in Canada?

Whistler, Banff, Jasper, Algonquin Park, Niagara Falls, The Thousand Islands, Ottawa, Quebec City, Bay of Fundy, Prince Edward Island, etc.

Hmmm...lots of nature stuff it sounds like. I'll do some investigating. My only knowledge of the CN Tower is from the game My Country...lol.

Canada isn't good for spectacle-style attractions. The best way to approach it is by activities you enjoy: Montreal is great if you like European-style nightclub life, shopping, etc. Vancouver is great for outdoor activities, pretty much all of them, from skiing to rowing.

Thanks Pink Ranger. I'm more the Montreal person then, so I'll look into a visit one day. I like to shop and see sights.

Toronto has a very pronounced artsy and alternative scene. It's kind of like the BK of Canada but a lot less fony. Hahaha
Fantastic independent film scene too.

The CN Tower or Niagara Falls.
I actually find both of these to be quite boring.

Thousand Islands were kind of boring to me. I guess it also depends on who you go with. Every summer my friends and I go up to Muskoka and it's AMAZING. Every winter we go up to Saint-Sauveur and that's also freaking awesome.
