Fanboy Orgasm on Smallville??

My shot in the dark? It's one of the previously mentioned characters (MM, perhaps?), or even an existing one (Zod?) and the "fanboy orgasm" will be over the person cast (Hackman, Cain? A. Paul?) rather than the character itself. There were fanboy cheers heard across the I-Net when Marsters was cast as Fine/Brainiac, so maybe folks should start wondering what actor (or actress?) would inspire similar geekgasms - and RATINGS. Hullo? ;)

Just a thought. :)

Pat, you just made me change my mind.

Forget Bruce Wayne.....Please god, let it be Hackman. :D

Of course I'd settle for Cain or Hatcher also.
Or Gerard Christopher.
If not a Hackman cameo, then one of these three.:O

I'm so scatterbrained today.:(

I was just wondering, would they do Hackman as the President?

oh and Hulk the BW denial came before the AA report.

Hackman would have made a great Morgan Edge. :)

Hackman is 76 years old, just.. no. As the President he'd be fine I think.

Rutger Hauer was a perfect choice for Morgan Edge. :)

LOL! Just throwing some ideas out there folks. I thought it was odd that Ausiello would go out of his way to make a special news announcement the day before his column usually runs, and then be so vague about the other character tid-bit today.

If the ink isn't dry on the actor's agreement through, that could explain the delay in being allowed to post what ostensively is a casting announcement. And baring characters like Batman or Wonder Woman (do you folks *really* believe Features would let them have those? C'mon! LOLOLOL), big news is usually associated with the thesp cast, not so much the character being portrayed. Who outside of comic circles even KNOWS who Martian Manhunter is, for example? And even if folks do, would they *really* care all that much? He's not like Flash, or even Aquaman. But if a press release includes a name like Dean Cain, or Adrian Paul, THAT might result in some real geekgasms among genre fanboy circles.

What would YOU guys be more excited to hear? An episode where a character named Bruce Wayne shows up (played by somebody you've NEVER heard of before), or an episode that had a character played by Hackman, Adrian Paul, or even Dean Cain?

Again, just throwing the idea out. Guess we'll find out with next week's TV Guide, though I suspect if it's THAT big news, it'll probably get leaked earlier. Ausiello just wanted folks to know he's in the loop and knew about this ahead of time LOL.

fanboys dont like Dean Cain, it's not him. Since they said "fanboys" I figured it would be something thats character based and not actor based, but Hackman could enduce a similar response. Though putting 76 year old Gene Hackman and "orgasm" in the same sentence really creeps me the heck out...

Maybe it'll be Dean Cain as Jor-El and Teri Hatcher as Lara in a flashback.  :)

Christian Bale as Zod OMFG!!!!!!11

who says fanboys hate dean cain? i thought it was well-taken that fans enjoyed his performance as clark, although not so much as superman.

LOL @ Hulk.

Plus Hulk, Cain was my favorite interpretation of Clark, but yea, his Supes was kinda weak.:)

I would like to re-iterate this.
“Pivotal comic-book character”. So casting a normal character with a “name” really shouldn’t fit that bill

I would love to see Bruce just as much as the next person but we all know that it's never going to happen. it's pointless getting your hopes up over it.

If that's the case, I reject it as a valid denial. They used to say "no flights, no tights" like crazy before Crusade, and we've been getting little hints at flight ever since. In my eyes, Bruce Wayne is still a valid candidate but I'm not getting my hopes up for the Dark Knight.

Maybe it's Lori Lemaris. ;P

It could be a few people. Since they're saying its a "pivotal" comic book character one could also assume it relates back to Clark/Superman. The casting of the real Jor-El? Could we finally see him?

I'd leap for joy if that were true. Getting Stamp himself would make it even better.

I dunno, Bruce being on smallville no longer excites me, ever since that pseudo Bruce rumor, Lana's ex boyfriend. I forget his name. The one that lex brought back to life and was spying on her and Clark. He had alot of Bruce characteristics.

What would make me go nuts would be Bizzaro. Im all abou him showing up on Smallville, it's already set up to happen, they just ned to drop the hammer on it.

To make Bruce's appearance worthmy time, it better not be about bruce teaching Clark a valuble lesson, or giving him ideas about secret identities. They have done that crap to death on the show already, the story would have to be better then that to make me care.

I would like an appearance by Bruce Wayne, this season, but as many have said, it is highly improbable, if not impossible. He's not going to appear on Smallville.

Yes but it was only a couple of weeks before, just as they were meeting to begin writing S6 not like 6 months to a year. I still take it as valid.

You do make a good point, but a lot of things can change in a couple weeks when it comes to writing a television show.

I still say it's a possibility, although it's about as slim as Kate Moss.

ZING!

Well let's think about it one second. It is doubtful that it is Bruce but on the other hand let me remind you guys of something that happaned on DeKnight's blog. They asked him if Jimmy was ever gonna show up in the show, DeKnight said Features weren't gonna allow them to ever use Jimmy. A week or two later Jimmy is on the show. DeKnight confirmed it and said to ppl that indeed they weren't allowed to use him but now they were. So who's not to say that won't happen with Bruce. Maybe the movie's disapointing box office has made them give SV a break as far as restrictions and invest a little bit more on their Superman cash cow.

Why can't Ausiello just tell us what it is? It's not fair he knows and won't tell us for days. I feel like he is laughing at us. :(
