Favorite Batman reference

Randall to Dante in Clercks II:

"One semester we took criminology for God's sake! Criminology! Who the fu[k are we studying to be, Batman?"

Seinfeld episode "The Strike" :

George : "So, attractive one day, not attractive the next."

Jerry : "Have you come across this?"

George : "Yes, I am familiar with this syndrome. She's a two-face."

Jerry : "Like the Batman villain?"

George : "If that helps you."

and I loved that episode of Friends where Chandler rents a tuxedo worn by James Bond in some movie and Ross trumps him by renting one that was worn by Val Kilmer as Batman...

:oldrazz:

And of course that scene in Shaun of the Dead... They're trying to decapitate the girl zombie with vinyl records and they're questioning which ones to throw and which ones to keep. When they get to the Batman soundtrack by Prince, Shaun says "yeah, chuck it..." :woot:

In Gremlins 2 one of the gremlins mutates into a bat and smashes a wall creating the sillouhuette of the bat-symbol.

Family Guy.... peter's got a hose & he calls Lois Catwoman & he iniates foreplay & she says not right now Batman (or something like that)

I also like the SIMPSONS where they parody the "surgery" scene from BATMAN when lisa gets braces, complete with the smashing of the mirror, etc.

Come to think of it, any Batman reference on the SIMPSONS was pure gold.

"Batman's a scientist"
"It's not Batman!"

Adam West mocking the new Batman movies, doing the Batusi and frightening the children.

And the wax museum scene with Homer and Mel Gibson.

here's the one where keaton unzips the Batman suit from Tiny Toons, go to 9:40, or near the end. Plucky says something that about every Keaton nonbeliever did back in 1989

That is also classic.

"STUNTDUCK!"

The part where Plucky makes a joke about Keaton as Batman is really funny, but it also says a lot about guys like Paul Dini and Bruce Timm, who worked on those Tiny Toons episodes (not yet knowing they'd go on to make their own Batman animated series)... It's like they're the same kind of petty fanboys, stomping their little feet in ire at the Burton movies, like some people are still doing... :oldrazz:

"HAH! How dare they cast Mr. Mom as my childhood hero! I will show them! I'll write a pun about it in my animated show! Muhahaha!"

MALLRATS. Jay and Silent Bob are fleeing Mall Security Guards and all of a sudden Silent Bob has a Utility Belt and they re-enact the grappling hook escape scene from BATMAN.

...that was the first reference that came to my mind when I read this topic...Silent Bob with the utility belt and then Jay saying "...where do you get these wonderful toys???"

also I remember Peter from Family Guy with the spidey suit, hanging from a rope and singing the classic Batman song but saying "Spiderman!!":

"nana-nana-nana-nana-nana-nana-nana-nana, Spidermaaaan!!!"

that's okay... i don't The Clerks thing w/ Dogma, Mallrats etc. SUCKS TOO... kevin smith is a fat idiot... he shouldn't be allowed to have comicbook references in his abnoxiously overrated trash he calls FILMS

One of my favorites is from Half Baked when the main characters take on Sampson and his people. The whole fight sequence completely aped the fights from the 60's Batman tv show all the way down to even using the theme music.

Surprised no ones mentioned the Only Fools and Horses special. Were they run down the back alleys going to that fancy dress party, then run into those muggers and she says "its.. Batman" then they all run off. Thats a classic. But im guessing no Americans will know what it is.

Episode of MST3k:

*Limo driver who looks like Keaton gets out of car*

Crow: Michael Keaton!

*Limo driver looks at camera before getting back into car*

Tom Servo: I'm Batman!

Kevin Smith is fantastic. Dont state your opinions about him as if they were fact, especially in a thread that isnt about that. I dont know what I was expecting though, as you're in general a pretty crap poster...

I remember that one, love how they included the trademark on the Bat-symbol, but I imagine that little kids were a tad confused and didn't understand the in-joke at how controversial Keaton's casting was.

Don´t forget Looney Tunes Back in Action. Daffy Duck in the Batmobile...Classic

How about that celebrity jeopardy on Saturday Night Live, with Matt Perry as Michael Keaton...hilarious:yay:

Damn that show was great, Tiny Toons picked on EVERYTHING. Even Roseanne screeching the national anthem was parodied (in which they portayed her as morbily obese). I love it's cynical humor.

In Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, Charlies father works in a toothpaste factory. The toothpaste brand is "Smilex".

rlly? ill have to check it out... i own the flick but never noticed that!

While there are quite a few Batman references I liked, I didn't like Ben Grimm's homage to All-Star Batman in the Fantastic Four Movie :hehe: .
