Favorite Character Without Their Own Series?

Luke Cage
come on marvel! Third times the charm baby!
he's got a wife and a kid. a supporting cast and everything, maybe he could get a job disguised as a mild mannered reporter for a major metropolitan newspaper:cwink:

^^^
I'd rather have Bendis write a Luke Cage series than New Avengers.

^He digs Luke so i wouldn't mind that trade off.

X-23. Im really surprised Marvel hasnt been milking her. Her 2 minis rocked and I would defiently buy an ongoing with her

Dr.Strange with Brain K. Vaughn writing.

The Sentry. I don't think an ongoing would be best for him, but another good mini series or possibly a maxi-series.
I like what they're doing with him on Dark Avengers, but there's so much depth they could go into with something more focused on him (like his old partner, cadet, and if his memory of what happened in the past has come back. Or more of Sentry dealing with all the people he's killed in the past, perfect emotional tension right there. Or more interactions with a wider variety of marvel characters, etc).

A few of my favorite Marvel characters already have series right now, or are headlining in a team book.

The fanboy in me would love to see Colossus take over the Breakworld or become more involved with them simply as a pure selfish way to get him out of the X-Men ghetto and into the current awesomeness of "Marvel Space" alongside his Starjammers comrades Havok and Polaris, or hell, characters like Jack Flag and Darkhawk, but his mini wouldn't sell and there's no way that is happening.

I'd love to see Brian K. Vaughan write another Dr. Strange mini. Or launch an ongoing, or something. With or without Martin, although with would be fine. THE OATH was so underappreciated.

Aside for that, I'm happy so far.

Dr Strange is my top choice for ongoing. Silver Surfer is number 2.

I would like to see a mini for Night Thrasher..I know, nobody else wants that..but he's one of my favorites.

How about a Havok mini...??

Dr. Strange.
Hopefully, Marvel could score Gaiman for it.

I like that idea. A lot!

Thanks. I do, too. I mean, reservations about Whedon's AXM run aside, it set up a story where Colossus and the X-Men were instrumental in overthrowing both a tyrant in Kruun and a rebel with a death wish in, uh, that woman Colossus and Ord killed at the core. As they told Kruun, Colossus had full authority to rule them if he wished. It wouldn't be much of a stretch to have something force Colossus to revisit Breakworld and then get sucked into a Marvel Space thing, an ANNIHILATION 4 if you will. The Breakworlders always reminded me of sheer rip off's of the Z'Nox, so they could wind up being connected, like the Romulans and Vulcans are in STAR TREK.

However, I am not irrational. If editorial wouldn't let Dan Slott have Beast for his Mighty Avengers roster, despite Beast being a former member who was still occasionally making cameo's into the Busiek/Perez run, I doubt they will relinquish Colossus to any other branch of Marvel right now. He needs to stay there for Magik, because it has been decided that after rehashing stories like DARK PHOENIX saga endlessly, it was time to rehash something from the mid 80's in INFERNO.

Hell, part of me thinks the only reason Abnett & Lanning were allowed to plan their second space event around Vulcan and the Starjammers, who include two X-Men, was because Brubaker spent a year setting up that storyline in the past, as well as there being two mini's afterward. WAR OF KINGS is essentially satisfying some two years of build up in that regard.

Besides, it wouldn't sell. Colossus can't support a mini. It would just be a pure fanboy idea. I can dare to dream. Space makes everyone cool.

I would like to see someone do something new and different with Namor. Surely there's a Pak or Fraction out there that wants to expand his world like they did for Hulk and Iron Fist. Or like Priest did a few years ago with Blank Panther. Namor's one of those great characters that could really benefit from a supporting cast.

The Starjammers include 3 X-Men, not 2. Alex, Lorna, Rachel.

Anyway, I was totally expecting Colossus to be off in space somewhere as soon as Whedon's run of Astonishing X-Men ended. It was the perfect setup. Colossus overthrew Kruun (the woman was Aghanne, by the way. Easy to remember when you think of her name as "Agony."), and was given control over Breakworld. Cut to the post-Messiah CompleX X-titles, and Colossus is still on Earth with no mention of Breakworld.

I also expected Beast to be pulling double-duty as an X-man AND an agent of SWORD. Warren Ellis is the only writer still using Abigail Brand, and even he won't acknowledge Beast taking the job she offered him.

Speaking of which, I'd love to see Abigail Brand get an Abigail Brand: Agent of SWORD series, preferably with Beast as a supporting character/dirty love interest.

Right, keep forgetting about Rachael/Marvel Girl.

AXM by then was horribly disconnected with continuity so I don't think editorial placed much of it's details on the agenda, beyond Armor and, as you stated, Brand. I honestly didn't care for her for most of the series, but by the end she got decent. Besides, not too many characters offer Beast much banter anymore.

While I honestly couldn't imagine Colossus ruling a planet, it was an interesting set up, and above all something different than the same Soviet/mafia/moping stories he has been doing either in 616 or Ultimate or whatever for about 15 years. Space perhaps helps make characters cooler because it introduces them to more far out situations than they are used to as well as can make even the greatest hero feel like an outsider. There's no angst about being a mutant in space when nearly every alien race has access to far out powers or advanced technology (or both). It's easier to face over the top threats and occasionally even be rewarded for it.

I mean, Breakworld was a planet that nearly destroyed the Earth; leaving it a hostile hotbed without a sane ruling figure or party is dangerous. But, yeah, I doubt it would happen. The X-Men need their big metal guy who stands in the background and says "Da!" before losing to every noteworthy threat they seem to face. I swear, poor Colossus has so few damn victories for an 85 ton tanker. :(

Glad you agree about Breakworld being a perfect set up to include Colossus in the space territory if that was a plan somewhere.

Young Avengers

They get a token mini every year, but, yeah, it would be nice if Marvel put up or shut up about an ongoing. :p

I agree with you Dread on the mishandling of Colossus over the years, but just recently in Uncanny X-Men, he was the focus of a story that handled him wonderfully. He even beat the snot out of a rather nasty villian and did so without resorting to turning to metal.

It was pretty awesome.

Oh, and why no love for a Rocket Raccoon mini...or maybe an odd couple type book with Bug and Rocket Raccoon...it would be sweet.
