I decided to separate titles if a certain DP worked on more than one. Because it can look drastically different (see Avengers: Age of Ultron and Guardians of the Galaxy, for example).

Age of Ultron, Guardians of the Galaxy and The Dark World are my favourite. Doctor Strange will probably make the list too.

I personally think The Avengers cinematography is absolutely legendary. Whedon and McGarvey created clear, bright, colorful and natural image, which greatly supports and enhances what's going on in the movie. No heavy color filtering, when the whole movie begins to look like it consists out of 1-3 primary colors. The image isn't over-saturated either. Fullscreen aspect ratio is greatly appreciated too.

Trent Opaloch is close second. Or maybe I can even swap him and McGarvey, but since he was the first in MCU, he takes the spot. Opaloch and Russos, it seems, continue the tradition of The Avengers, but their image is while even more natural, a bit less saturated, colors are slightly more muted. But lighting setup and camera work are close to perfect in my book.

Eh WS, TA and CW were a little flat for me. Looked more like TV than anything else. I loved GotG, TDW and AoU.

Iron Man 1 and 2, courtesy of Matthew Libatique, are very good looking movies shot on 35mm.

Cap Civil War and Cap The Winter Soldier

Like TV means that it looks like it could air on network TV. The Avengers looks like it has the same look as Agents of Shield. It doesn't have that..."movie" look to it which, honestly, kind of bothers me. Its still a great film but it would have been so much better with a DP that could give it a more movie look rather than a plain TV look. If only the DP of AoU worked on the first one...

Guardians of the Galaxy has some beautiful imagery, Gamora and Peter almost kissing comes to mind, beautiful shot, or the Groot spores scene.

You've just given yet another non-answer. When I ask "what is it that makes something 'look like TV'", I or others are looking for answers like "there are extended scenes with the whole cast standing in a room talking, with several fixed cameras switching perspectives". Or "the color filters and focal lengths are kept consistent". Or *something* like that, specific, rather than vague obvious absurdities like "It looks like its on TV".

I liked The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Ant-Man and Captain America Civil War's the best! They felt the most unique and memorable for me.

None of these Marvel/DC movies come close to M Knight's Unbreakable in terms of cinematography. Now that's a well shot movie that could stand up to non-superhero cinema.

why would you choose one film Sam Jackson was in over countless appearances as Nick Fury?

Iron Man 3. It feels like I'm watching a late 80's-90's action movie.

I know they don't count, but each of the Netflix shows so far have all looked great.

Most Marvel movies have a very flat look to me. The cinematography is servicable, but hardly anything that stands out.
