Favourite Arcs of All Time

Wasn't "Gifted" only six issues? Then "Danger" followed it and made the title kind of suck.

Avengers: Red Zone was awesome. Geoff Johns should've stayed on that book way longer. Can you imagine how awesome the Avengers would be right now if Geoff had an extended stay at Marvel like he has at DC now? Instead of staying he was followed by Chuck Austen and then Bendis took over the Marvel Universe.

Kraven's Last Hunt
All of Brubaker's run on Captain America (It's all sort of one big story)
Frank Miller's epic Death & Resurrection of Elektra in DD.
Last arc of Grant Morrison's New X-Men
Spider-Man: Blue, if that counts.
Death of Gwen Stacy
Millar's 12-issue run on MK Spider-Man
Ock/Owl Gang War in Spectacular Spider-Man
Bru's run on DD.

So many...

Instead of staying he was followed by Chuck Austen and then Bendis took over the Marvel Universe.

It's really sad how true this is.

I loved Johns' run, except for the part where he put Hank back in the Yellowjacket costume. But everything else was golden.

Ultron Unlimited, Avengers Forever, Maximum Carnage, A World Apart (Exhiles oddly enough), The Last Iron Fist story, Incredible Hercules, Kraven's last Hunt.

... I'm bad at choosing just one of things and everyone beat me to a lot of the ones I loved.

I stand by that Exhiles arc as awesome. I still follow the title despite how terrible it is these days just cause of how great it was when it started.

That's a bit of a silly reason to keep following it. You do know that Winick's never coming back, right?

*hangs head* i know.... it just used to be so good. I mean.... the core concept is still the same. It could get that good again right?

Nah. Morph is a perverse aberration and the rest of the team are a bunch of hollow imitations of the X-Men from Claremont's long-gone golden years on that title.

yeah but they could always replace the team again and make it cool and I can think of a dozen ways to fix the Morph problem. Surely people who get paid for their ideas can come up with some that at least equal mine.

If Morph were actually Morph again... well, I'm not gonna lie, I still wouldn't read it so long as Claremont's writing. But if Morph were Morph, the rest of the team were replaced with decent characters, the book took off its stupid X-blinders and did more with alternate versions of the Marvel universe as a whole again, and Claremont left, I'd consider picking it up again.

I liked Peter David/Dale Keowns (sp?) run on The Hulk. The artwork was great and David's writing, as always, was superb.

But, I do like the "A New Day" arc, so far. However, the last couple of issues since they switched creative teams have been kinda slow.

I personally think Yellowjacket sucks and should never be heard from ever again. Hank Pym should either be Giant-Man or just plain Hank Pym.

The core concept is pretty different actually. It used to be Sliders meets X-Men. Now it's just... crappy X-Men with a few alternate realities thrown in.

The Punisher "Up is Down, Black is White", it's a story that shows Frank feeling anything in awhile, mainly anger. Frank is usually a pretty calm dude for being a psychotic mass murderer but after what happens to his family in the first issue of this story he actually loses it for a bit and it's fun to see how far he'll go to make things right. Actually all of Garth's Punisher run has been classic and I'll be sad to see it end.

Exiles... man how I used to love that book... and now... Sad. To me it was great all the way up until right around the time Beak joined. I had nothing against Beak or that time period but it wasn't quite as good, but still enjoyable. World Tour started alright, but when they killed Mimic it really hurt it for me, and then Morph's "death" solidified it. I tried to keep going on the title but I just found myself dreading bying it, so I stopped.

It was best until around the time when Blink first left after or around the Phalanx arc. I liked the weapon X stuff and Hyperion, and I really liked the short period when Holocaust was in the book too, but sadly, I don't see my self ever picking it up again. I just don't care anymore.

Morph's death is what got me off the book, too. They can claim Proteus is "just like Morph" 'til they're blue in the face; I'm not buying it.
